Dawkins to receive the key to the city today (11/14) at 5 p.m.

Well, Josh is spending more time in front of a camera than his wife the actress, so why not? I (half) kid, but he’s on commercials non-stop these days! I love the guy, but it’s not a great look right now. -
Joe B article - Elijah Moore, Curtis Samuel, Gabe Davis
HamptonBillsfan replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
My biggest question about receivers is Beane’s hesitancy to resign Hollins. He was so productive and clutch. He was not going to be expensive but with other clubs interested it was just easier to let him walk .Samuel has been often injured and it’s obvious Josh has no trust or desire to target him. Moore, for whatever reason is an afterthought in our offense. With Palmer being a lower tier addition as a FA, it makes you wonder how Beane is prioritizing talent or if he is just slapping together journeyman players that fit into the beleaguered cap situation he has with the overpaid players he has extended and Josh/Cook contracts. It’s hard to reconcile the sad reality that Beane never intended to add any quality talent with an untenable financial commitment and this will continue. Unless he stumbles on a player drafted late in round one, Josh will have to make due with lesser talent at receiver. -
Battle for the Division: Bill and Pats remaining games poll.
Luka replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
Because McDermott is a terrible coach who's afraid of another 13 second game. His whole philosophy now revolves around mitigating the defense's responsibility for this team's failures. The ship is sinking fast. Soon we will start hearing murmurs of Josh wanting out. And for good reason. He could go to his favorite child hood team, live near his farm and his wife's job and have a coach in Shanahan that somehow gets the Niners close every year, even with Mr. Irrelevant and Mac Jones at QB. When Josh said "I have no expectations for the team this year" what he was really saying is "I am over this bull####." -
You don't win a SB in November. They have done enough the last five years to make me give them the benefit of the doubt even after that debacle in Miami. They may disappoint me, but as a Bills fan for over 50 years disappointment is a dear friend. I'll let this play out, like I did after the awful wind game in 2021. And even if this is not their year, with Allen this team will always have a chance, if we can add the right pieces in the off season, either with this regime or another. The re-ascendancy of the Pats-- which was unexpected this year and makes it somewhat traumatic-- is just another team to beat like the Chiefs (although they have done nothing yet to make them anywhere near as dangerous). It's just competition, and at the end that's what makes it fun, notwithstanding the Patriot PTSD.

Hate to say this … but the Pats are effing good
CirclnWagons replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
Pats are back. There’s no denying it. If the pegulas were smart, they’d build massage parlors in every single strip mall within 20 miles of Foxboro and wait for New England to crumble from the top down. With the current bills front office and coaching staff, that’s our only hope -

Too bad it wasn’t the key to a different OC or a defense that could stop the run. Now that’s something I’d be excited about -
Are any of the people that absolutely crushed me for saying the pats had a more talented roster than we currently do available to explain how bad the pats are to me again? After last night, I could really use it. I’ve listened to beanes explanation of not mortgaging our future to fill the glaring holes we have right now multiple times and it just doesn’t seem to be helping

TNF Jets @ Pats... Bills discussion allowed as this directly affects us
SoCal Deek replied to T&C's topic in The Stadium Wall
To quote John Lennon: “Life is what happens when you are busy making other plans.” The Bills have spent the last half decade chasing the Chiefs, trying desperately to unlock the secret of how to beat them in the playoffs. While we were laser focused on that singular goal other AFC teams ascended. The Patriots are clearly one of them. But at least we still have the Jets and the Dolphins to ignore (at least we did until last Sunday.) -

I'm going to get ridiculed for this but i want this team to focus on football right now. i'm all for championing the community, outreach and support for the community, and being a great person... but right now every player should be nose deep in the playbook, film, and field. [/ $.15 rant] -

I don't understand downplaying what the Pats are doing. Good players, better coaching staff and a QB who is improving. Winning 8 in a row is impressive. -
Go watch the games back - Josh wasn't that good in 2023 when they were 6-6 and won their last 5 games. Josh struggled in the games against Houston and Baltimore last year. History repeats itself - this team has had stretches like this several times over the years. What's frustrating is the decline in how Allen was last year to this year. He was surgical last season, and now seems gun shy. He needs to be better, the WRs need to be better, the defense needs to be better. They have shown they could be in the past - will need to see if they can do it again.

I’m guessing he was your Designated Drunk Driver? I met a kid who held that self-appointed title. He was in rehab at the time. He said “I had no idea why it’s so hard for them to drive drunk.” Practice, practice, practice!

Who do we want, who do we need as our next HC and, or GM?
Gregg replied to jaybeezee's topic in The Stadium Wall
He definitely has a say, but Beane also has a say. Terry said that both men have equal power and only report to him so neither one of them is the boss of the other. They are both responsible for where this team is and sadly it appears to be declining this season. -

It's not even that the Pats are good again that bothers me. It's the monumental failure of the three amigos running our organization. The Pats we watched last night are what the Bills were just a few seasons ago and there's no reason we shouldn't still be that. After Daboll left, Mcdermott had a different vision of what he wanted this team to look even though the key pieces he had in place didn't fit that identity. On offense he wanted to morph us into a ball control run heavy offense despite having one of the most athletic big armed QBs the league has seen. On defense he wanted a 4 man front that could dominated the line of scrimmage and play zone defense behind it and yet all their guys are totally undersized then we spend 1st round picks on DBs who have no clue how to play zone defense. Beane's roster management has been abysmal. We're paying/payed big contracts to guys who haven't contributed nearly anything. Blown 1st round picks year after year. Paying Diggs $31 million to leave town despite having nothing to replace him and then he ends up torching us on every team he's been on since. Brady's playbook must have been drawn up by a 3rd grader. It's just that bland and predictable. Each week that passes leaves me with a growing hatred for these guys. -
That's life (that's life) I tell ya, I can't deny it (ooh) I thought of quittin', baby, but my heart just ain't gonna buy it And if I didn't think it was worth one single try I'd jump right on a big bird, and then, I'd fly

It took us 20 years to rebuild and find a franchise QB. Took the Pats less than 5 years. -

IMO, that is a byproduct of what McDermott wants, short, high percent passes that keep the clock moving, everything this team does or is is McDermotts baby and everybody is just a yes man to him. -
