You're right, I didn't phrased it correctly. I do agree the Patriots are the toughest game remaining. But maybe I am weird, but I have absolutely no doubt that we will win there. We are not getting swept by divisional rival. Both McD and Allen are too good for that. So that is a win in my book. Bengals I am less sure of, so that is the game I fear most when thinking about winning out.

I don't know if this is where he meant to go but it's where I will take this part... The first drive is always a scripted set of plays. Generally on the defense as much as the offense. The defense wants to set up for base anticipating with the offense was going to give them. The offense is going to play their best card to start the matchup. And playing our best cards on the scripted plays we are struggling. If we could create a score off that first possession it helps out a lot. DC tom wrote a hell of a post a decade ago on the stats and complexity that really is simplistic. Each team gets the ball about eight times a game at the most. Sometimes a few less. It is very important to establish a points lead in the first two or three possessions of a game and it's outcome. Doing so in the first three possessions was statistically almost perfect to win.

I do not like our matchup with Denver. Good defense...maybe just a hair behind Houston and an offensive that is confident and finds ways to win. I'm not wary of Baltimore at all. Their defense still is shaky and Lamar has been off since he came back. And Indy may not even make it, and if they do a one legged Danny Dimes isn't a bad matchup. Looking at potential Playoff teams, Houston Denver and New England are they only teams that give me pause. Playoff football is about defense and running the rock. Texans D > Chiefs D; neither are big threats on the ground. I feel like we could handle this version of the Chiefs far better in the playoffs than that Texans D.
