Its OK for the Bills to be a run-first team
ren1701 replied to First Round Bust's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have no words - anybody that is "ok" with this is crazy. This is a passing league and has been for the last 30 plus years. We have arguably one of the best, like ever, a unicorn which we will never get again and this clunky, ball control garbage that they think they can play against good teams is the best they can do??? - then they should do the best of somebody better. With that thinking, trade 17 now while he can still win one with a coach that knows how to use him because he deserves better than being a game manager for a offensive coordinator that that has a playbook of screens and B gap runs. Seriously, you literally just watched this team give up the church to bad teams because Allen could not put on the cape and bail them out - they win against a team that is even worse than the them and people are ok with it. They play uninspired and they game plan LAZY. They come out with the same 10 core offensive plays and play bend don't break typically till the 3rd quarter when McClappy figures it out. We have MAYBE 3 more wins on this schedule and if we do make the playoffs, I expect the same result as the last 6 years. At some point, this became the definition of insanity and we all for some reason keep trying to defend it. What's that called? Mental gymnastics? I don't know -
If he didn't, we should all pitch in and buy him a trough from the old stadium, and hook it up in his living room. At the very least, it would be a conversation piece.

The most overrated item in America bar none. You can get a bigger pack of cookies that have double the amount of cookies for half the price right in the cookie aisle of the same Walmart you buy Girl Scout cookies in front of. Because they don't sell them year round your mind tricks itself as being better than they are. And a lot of the times, the Girl Scouts aren't even selling them. It's parents hitting up coworkers. Most of the time the kids in scouts aren't even out at the table selling the cookies at Walmart either. A bunch of parents doing it.

Let’s talk about this Drake “marvelous “ Maye 😅
ChrisWatson#21 replied to Italian Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
His numbers this year are better that’s for sure but how much of that is a result of not having a first place schedule like he will next year? Or the lack of film yet on his new offense? Or a result of just plaing luck and playing for an elite NFL franchise that doesn’t get penalized as other clubs? I’ll hold until another year at least beofre reaching that conclusion. -

And TimonPoint is who, exactly -

Coincidentally, Sean Payton is also the guy who signed CJ Spiller away from the Bills and thought he'd hit the jackpot. And so did a lot of Bills fans on TSW who figured Payton could figure out how to use him.

NeverOutNick's First round QB rankings

100% thought the same way. Shows how easy it is to turn a franchise around. Great QB and Great HC and the pats went from worst to first. If only we could get the coach part right… -

Mac Jones threw for 3,800 yards as a rookie and like 68% completion Now obviously Maye has more physical talent I don't believe your offense is without weapons... you have better wide receivers than the Buffalo Bills .. you literally have guys running way more open than the bills have for 12 games I think Drake Maye is in a great system and is playing with a lot of confidence so he is looking very very good and is a really good quarterback I have just been coaching and playing an scouting long enough that I don't crown anybody after two seasons Patrick mahomes came out of the gate throwing 45-50 touchdowns and will never reach that high again.. he's actually regressed slightly Not always Straight arrow up.. but yes I think Drake Maye is very talented I got to watch him in high school I thought he had pro bowl plus potential.. but he had to clean up some things.. he had a little hitch in his delivery it was a little long Nobody doubted his ability to throw the football.. but it takes a lot more than just the ability to spin it to be a consistent top three or five quarterback in the NFL Nobody has really seen how he will bounce back in the NFL from rough stretches.. but he did have back-to-back rough games in the ACC where he did lose playing with his confidence and swagger against Clemson and North Carolina State .. how he bounces back in the NFL will show a lot -
Game week thread - Bengals at Bills (flexed to 1pm ET)
Rockinon replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
If you can run, that's the best way to win with this offense. Run and then run some more. Make that last place defense give up. Control time of possession. Keep the Cincy offense off the field. We can still throw a few bones to the TEs. We can still throw to the RBs. We can still throw a few passes to WRs. But there is absolutely no reason not to make this a run heavy game. Cincy is weak at both LB and Safety. Running it is how you dominate this game. -
I follow college ball wayyyyyyyyy more than the NFL and it was plain to see that Maye had the "it" factor at UNC. I didn't want him anywhere near the AFCEast.

NeverOutNick's First round QB rankings
NeverOutNick replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
I mean it was pretty widespread that Williams was the #1 and Daniels was #2 according to the talking heads and the way the draft ended up but I appreciate the sarcasm. I’m always a fan of a good humbling -
Oh so now mtg isn't bat ***** crazy? Oh ok.

Just curious, what metric are you using to evaluate coaches? Sure, the Pats look good this year...but how is Vrabel (in your opinion) an obviously better coach than McDermott? Mike Vrabel 8 years as head coach. 65-47 reg season (.580%). Three (will soon be four) playoff appearances in 8 years. 2-3 in the playoffs (.400%). Two first round playoff losses (in three tries). 1 AFC Champ game appearance. Sean McDermott 9 years as head coach. 94-49 reg season (.657%). Seven (will soon be eight) playoff appearances in 9 years. 7-7 in the playoffs (.500%). Two first round playoff losses (in seven tries). 2 AFC Champ game appearances. Now of course the response will be...yeah, but Sean has had Josh. Fair enough. But let me counter with. (1.) Sean did not have Josh in year one, and Josh was not Josh in year two or year three of McD's tenure. So, he has had prime Josh for 6 years, not 9 years. (2.) While no one is going to compare Ryan Tannehill to Josh (other than that they were chosen 7th and 8th overall in the draft their respective years), he was not a horrible QB (average). BUT, Vrabel did also have a generational talent on his team in a prime Derrick Henry. Despite missing 9 games in 2021, Henry still averaged (AVERAGED) 1,576 yards from scrimmage and 14 TDs/year while Vrabel was his coach. Now, of course, QB is still the more important position, but having Henry sure does balance things out a bit. Taking QBs out of it for the moment, well, they are both defensive coaches right? So, let's look at how their defenses have fared. Here are their team's defensive rankings for both yards against and points against. Vrabel McDermott Yds against Pts against Yds against Pts against 20 32 26 18 8 3 2 18 21 12 3 2 28 24 14 16 12 6 1 1 23 14 6 2 18 16 9 4 7 5 17 11 8 13 Average Rankings: Vrablel: Yards Against: 17.1; Points Against: 14.0 McDerm: Yards Against: 9.5; Points Against: 9.4 And if you are curious on the offensive rankings in their tenures, well: Vrabel: Yards for: 18th; Points for: 16th. McDerm: Yards for: 12th; Points for 10th. And again, the Pats look very good this year, no doubt. But can they maintain that? Many coaches can come in and make a difference right away (just because a culture change was needed), but can they continue to play at the level they are now as the message gets stale, as they have to pay Maye big money, as Free Agency and age starts gnawing at their roster. I do think Vrabel is a very good coach and he might be able to weather those storms (it does help when you have your QB), but again, I ask you, by what metric are you saying that he is a better coach than Mcdermott? There isn't a stat in his favor at the moment, other than their record this year---3 more wins than the Bills, but also having played one extra game---and they have the head-to-head this year...but we'll face them again, at least once more. And if we win while the Pats are on BYE and then we win the rematch, the Pats will only be one game ahead of us. I just think that there is a lot of "the grass is greener" mentality amongst Bills fans right now. Yet as we know, that is usually not the case.

He's really good but I think buffalo is going to outclass the pats big time in a couple weeks. No , he's not on Allen's level -
Voted for White and Milano. They are the youngest and have been core Bills players. The best choices are Bosa and Thompson I guess, their impact is the easiest to see but I have voted on age and sentiment.

Kill Everybody --- Illegal Order?
BillsFanNC replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Drone strikes on designated terrorists 101: 1) Every mission executed by a long-range/long-duration UAV with a Hellfire missile is - in fact - a “kill mission.” By the nature of the attack, no capture is ever planned for or even possible. 2) Re-attacks of partially-destroyed targets is the rule, not the exception. The physical status of possible survivors is not part of the consideration with stand-off weapons. This has been the norm under both Republican and Democrat administrations since the first Hellfire was mounted on a Predator years ago. Anyone who tells you otherwise, is lying or ignorant. The method is ugly, no doubt about it, but there’s nothing new here except politics.
