Shaq is about a year away from retirement, he shouldn't be counted on to be part of the teams future. You can be ambivalent about Bernard, but he IS the teams MLB of the future. His play, especially against the pass, which is what this staff cares about, has been very good (not this injured season obviously). He is respected by his teammates and he gets the guys aligned and ready to rock and roll. I don't LOVE him, but he does the job that the staff asks of him very well. That, and his contract extension, mean that he is not going anywhere and will be this teams MLB for years.

G-d I hope not. That means we are handing him the ball way too much and he’ll be done by playoff time. IMHO, I’d like to see him used more in the passing game. His ability to make tackler’s miss is a huge asset. Lineup Davis or Johnson in the backfield and split Cook out to give defenses a look they haven’t seen and won’t know how to defend. From this lineup you can run, throws screens to Cook or Johnson/Davis or slide Cook underneath on a slot etc…. GA did this with Cook and it drove teams mad.

This makes it harder for me to maintain my rage, but I’ll work on it. That is clearly what they dearly wanted, and we aim to please! When I lose my stuff I don’t assume somebody else stole it.

I keep seeing reactions to the game like this. Do you really expect the Bills to play well every drive and win 40-0 each game and, if not, complain that they didn’t “play well?” Does it make people feel better if they split the bad drives up equally between halves? Or suck in the 2nd half? I guess psychologically it makes sense, you feel better looking at a 26-7 score the entire game but the drive to drive results are the exact same. Bottom line, Bills win on the road 26-7 against a 6-5 team…I’ll take it every time. The D has improved drastically over the last 3 games. They’ve gone from allowing 5.4ypp to 4.8ypp. My biggest issue is the turnovers on O. They went from a team that never lost the TO battle to one that can’t win it. Clean that up and they can get back to their winning streak days. No, Pats just have to lose 2. One to the Bills and another (gulp) to an AFC East team. That’s IF the Bills win out. Very doubtful that both those things happen but that’s why they play the games.
