‘I truly believe the wide receiver depth chart is much improved with the offseason additions of Trent Sherfield and Deonte Harty. Sherfield looks like he will bring a reliable pair of hands and positional versatility to the passing game. Harty adds speed, which was something the offense didn’t have enough of.’

‘”They have some good people over here: Micah [Hyde], [Jordan] Poyer, Shaq Lawson, Von [Miller] and on the coaching staff,” said Kirksey during his meeting with the media after practice. “I’ve been with [senior defensive assistant] Al Holcomb and [linebackers coach] Bobby Babich, and I like the other coaches they have here. I want to be part of a winning culture, so I’m hungry and ready to help out wherever I can. It was a no brainer for me.”‘

‘”Just his consistency, especially from a young guy on, and he’s been in the weight room this past offseason. There’s been discipline over a course of time that doesn’t waiver,” said Diggs following Thursday’s practice in Orchard Park.’

‘Kirksey had spent the past two seasons in Houston, even serving as a defensive captain last season. In his two years, Kirksey played 30 games, starting 29 of them with 217 total tackles, 13 tackles for loss, nine quarterback hits, three sacks, three fumble recoveries and three interceptions.’

‘According to the NFL’s waiver wire, the Bills lost safety Zayne Anderson to the Green Bay Packers, while also losing both offensive lineman Nick Broeker and cornerback Alex Austin to the Houston Texans.’

‘McGovern was injured last week during practice and did not suit up for the team’s preseason finale against the Chicago Bears. ‘The Bills announced on Sunday the release of defensive tackle Cortez Broughton, wide receivers Isaiah Coulter and Dezmon Patmon, safety Jared Mayden, tackle Garrett McGhin, tight end Jace Sternberger, and linebacker DaShaun White.’

‘Josh Allen and the starters started the game playing one series ending in a touchdown. Allen went 5/7 for 49 yards ending the drive with a Damien Harris touchdown. Kyle Allen played the rest of the game finishing 18-34, 162 yards a touchdown, plus an interception. Darrynton Evans lead the Bills in rushing with nine carries for 65 yards and a touchdown.’
