‘In Joe Brady’s debut as interim offensive coordinator, the Bills put 32 points up on the scoreboard against a terrific Jets defense, which got the better of the Bills offense in each of the last three matchups.’

‘Let’s keep the same energy, everyone. If a piece of the team is continuing to struggle, put the pressure on. Matthew Smiley’s special teams’ unit has been a disappointment for most of the season. For players that have dedicated roster spots for special teams roles, they have struggled mightily at times. They allowed a good kickoff return again, Sam Martin has been awful as of late, and the punt return team let the Jets get the better of them on a fake.’

‘Buffalo came out strong on the opening kickoff, as full back Reggie Gilliam laid a massive hit on returner Xavier Gipson, knocking the football loose. It was fellow tight end Quintin Morris falling on the football, giving the Bills a short field to work with at the Jets’ 21-yard line.’

‘”I really thought that the kickoff set the tone for the entire game,” said McDermott after the win. “Great job by our kickoff team. Reggie Gilliam, I think, was the player that caused the fumble and it went on from there.”‘

‘”Our guys came and they played well tonight,” said Allen following the win with the assembled media. “I thought I didn’t try to force anything, trusting the guys around me to make plays and that’s what we did tonight.”‘

‘On the tackle, Bills depth safety Taylor Rapp made the tackle of Hall with cornerback Taron Johnson trailing behind. However, Rapp took the brunt of the tackle in his head and neck area, and ended up falling back to the turf after originally getting up from the play.’

‘Wide receiver Gabe Davis did not have a single pass thrown his way the entire game. There are always many factors why things happen, but for the team’s No. 2 wideout to not get any targets is not a good thing.’

‘According to PFF, Josh Allen has just 10 turnover plays on the season. That’s the 15th most in the NFL. By percentage, Allen has the 29th highest turnover worthy play percentage in the NFL. This year has actually been the lowest turnover worthy play percentage of Allen’s career.’

‘The offensive numbers have not been bad this season. But, obviously, the production hasn’t been there. Over the last six games, the Bills are averaging only 20.5 points per contest.’

‘Every player on the Buffalo Bills’ active roster was a full participant in practice on Friday, but wide receiver Trent Sherfield (ankle) and defensive tackle Jordan Phillips (knee) are both considered questionable to play Sunday against the New York Jets.’

‘”We discussed things on Tuesday morning, and he took the ball and ran with it, and has done that ever since,” said McDermott on Friday during his weekly appearance on WGR. “His leadership has been very evident over the last three days here.”‘

‘”When you win, there’s a lot of energy. It starts at the top,” said Brady on Thursday. “I’ve got to point the thumb at myself and not point fingers, and I’ve got to make sure that I bring the energy and I bring the juice. The guys are going to feed off of me, and I think that will trickle down to Josh [Allen] and the players.”‘

‘“He’s got a lot of juice to him. He’s a former ballplayer himself. I think that he can relate to a lot of the guys, obviously he’s a fairly younger guy, a guy that’s been around the league. He’s been an offensive coordinator in the league. He’s been a national championship (play) caller at the college level. So there’s a lot of faith in him. He’s been around a lot of football. He’s learned under a lot of really good coaches. We’re going to have to utilize his knowledge going forward.”’

‘Dorsey was hired by the Bills in 2019 as the team’s quarterbacks coach. He was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2022 when Brian Daboll left to become head coach of the New York Giants.’
