Bills got a “raw deal” with compensatory pick, says Brandon Beane

‘“It did surprise me,” the Bills general manager told reporters Sunday here at the NFL’s annual meetings in Orlando. “I think us and San Francisco, we got a raw deal.”‘

Brandon Beane gives Bills salary cap update

‘”Yes, we were glad that the cap got to where it did, but we were still in the high 40s (millions of dollars) over that we needed to clear just to get cap compliant into the league year, much less be able to spend, and we still have to hold money for our draft picks, replacement costs, practice squad, all those things. So even as you see where our cap is, we still have to hold some money back.”‘

Report: Bills signing defensive lineman Austin Johnson

‘The report was later confirmed by NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, who says it’s a one-year deal worth up to $4 million.’

Bills sign offensive lineman Will Clapp to one-year deal

‘Clapp has primarily been a backup swing interior offensive lineman throughout his career, playing 65 games, starting 21, including eleven last season for the Chargers.’

Pete Guelli: ‘Very, very excited to come back…’

‘”Everything I have seen and heard to date, it looks like a very nice facility. I think everyone knows that building needs to be full and it needs to be a great experience and the one thing you do not want to compromise on is the gameday environment. It has to be great for the team, it has to be a home field advantage.”‘

Bills sign safety Mike Edwards to one-year deal

‘Edwards joins the Bills after spending the 2023 season as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs. The 27-year-old played in all 17 games, starting five of them with 51 total tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, two fumble recoveries and a touchdown.’

New Bills, Sabres COO Pete Guelli introduced on Wednesday

‘The new COO of the Bills and Sabres will begin his duties back in Buffalo come April, as he finishes up working with the New York Giants. Guelli also spent time working with the Bills organization from 1998-2009 as the team’s Senior Vice President of Business Ventures.’

Bills sign defensive end Casey Toohill

‘Toohill spent the last three-plus seasons with the Washington Commanders after entering the NFL as a seventh-round draft choice of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020.’

Bills re-sign running back Ty Johnson to one-year deal

‘The Bills announced the signing of Johnson on Tuesday after ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler originally reported the signing last week.’

Bills give cornerback Taron Johnson a three-year contract extension

‘Over the last several seasons, Johnson has been one of the top slot cornerbacks in the entire league. The former fourth-round pick out of Weber State in 2018 earned Second-Team All-Pro honors last season.’

Report: Bills sign wide receiver Curtis Samuel to three-year deal

‘The 27-year-old Samuel has spent the past three seasons with the Washington Commanders, where he totaled 132 catches for 1,296 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.’

Report: Bills to re-sign running back Ty Johnson

‘By the end of the regular season and into the playoffs, Johnson had overtaken veteran Latavius Murray as the Bills’ No. 2 running back behind James Cook.’

Bills to sign free agent wide receiver Mack Hollins

‘Hollins is a tall wide receiver at 6-foot-4 that has great speed and has the ability to stretch plays down the field, however his biggest impact in the NFL has been on special teams. He has 1,691 yards and 10 touchdowns on 131 receptions.’

Report: Bills signing free agent linebacker Nicholas Morrow to one-year deal

‘Morrow entered the league in 2017 as an undrafted free agent, signed by the Oakland Raiders out of Greenville University in Illinois. He was the first Greenville player to ever sign a contract in the NFL.’

Through one day of negotiating period, Bills focused on retaining own free agents

‘The new league year begins on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET. That’s when all teams must be under the 2024 salary cap, and many signings around the league will become official.’
