‘It’s really a shame the Bills offense couldn’t do anything against a defense that had been giving up plays the past few weeks. This game was there for the taking and really would’ve helped in the race for the Wild Card.’

‘It could be watching this pathetic Bills passing game has taken too much of a toll. Games like these, and I include both Tyrod Taylor and Nathan Peterman in this, make you wonder if or when the Bills will ever get a real quarterback. You know, the kind of quarterback who can go out and beat the best teams in the NFL.’

‘Last week in this space, I wrote that Taylor was “smart and efficient.” He was neither Sunday. On the opening drive of the game the Bills’ offense gained 66 yards and ate up almost half the quarter. Taylor threw for 35 yards on the drive before floating an easy interception to Pats’ LB Eric Lee. But after those 35 yards on the first series, he threw for 30 yards the rest of the game! (Taylor appeared to be injured on the first series and played most of the rest of the same, leaving just thirty seconds into the fourth quarter with a knee injury). As has been the case too often with Taylor, there were several throws he didn’t make that appeared to be available for good yardage. He finished 9-for-18 for 65 yards with the one interception and no touchdowns.’

‘Running back LeSean McCoy missed practice Friday with knee soreness, but he’s expected to play and wasn’t even be listed on the team’s official injury report for the game, released Friday afternoon.’

‘For New England, although the final injury status for the game won’t come out until Friday afternoon, Brady is fully expected to play. This is the second week in a row he was held out of Wednesday’s session with his Achilles injury, as they try to give him an extra day to rest it.’

‘Buffalo Bills wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin appeared to take a small step towards returning to the lineup Wednesday when he was seen off to the side of practice working with trainers and running ladder exercises.’

‘”He’s pretty much everything that you hear about and watch on TV,” Gaines said with Howard Simon and Jeremy White on WGR Tuesday morning. “He’s a great competitor, he knows the game inside and out, and he knows what you’re going to do before you do it. Everything you hear about is definitely true.’

‘No timetable was given for Benjamin’s return, but the Bills’ head coach still termed the wideout as “day-to-day” when asked about his recovery from a knee injured suffered eight days ago against the Los Angeles Chargers.’

‘”It felt good when they’re booing their own team off the field and they’re not as loud. When they’re rocking and rolling it’s similar to the Rose Bowl or New Era Field, it’s hard for teams to even call a play in the huddle.”‘

‘The win snaps their three-game losing streak, and gets the Bills back in a decent spot in the AFC playoff picture.’

‘But it all worked out in the end, and the Bills gave me a reason to care about the out-of-town scoreboard and once again check out remaining schedules for other teams. Nothing like a win to make you feel better. Don’t ruin the mood by asking about the next game on the schedule.’

‘Overall, the defense forced Kansas City to punt eight times!’

‘Stop me if you’ve read or heard this before. Taylor didn’t put up great numbers. But he was efficient and smart and gave his team a chance to win. And he did more than that Sunday. He was one of the reasons they won, despite average numbers in the passing game. Taylor finished 19-for-23 for 183 yards, but had no interceptions and threw a big TD to Zay Jones. He also added 27 yards on the ground with smart running when he needed to. It was a good day for the QB one week after being benched.’
