‘During his three seasons with the Hokies, Edmunds registered 213 total tackles, 112 solo tackles, one interception, three forced fumbles and 10 sacks. In his junior season, Edmunds was a finalist for the Butkus Award after he recorded 108 tackles and 5.5 sacks in 13 games.’

‘Furthermore, the father of this trio, Ferrell, had an admirable NFL career of his own. He was a Pro Bowler and a two-time all-pro selection to boot with the Miami Dolphins and Seattle Seahawks.’

‘Jackson is the best dual threat quarterback in this draft as his numbers will attest. The Florida native saw action in three games as a freshman and was the Cardinals’ starter each of the last two seasons. He threw for 7,203 yards and 57 touchdowns, while producing 3,172 yards and 39 touchdowns on the ground. But don’t get the idea that Jackson is a run first guy. He is a passer who can run as opposed to a runner who is asked to pass.’

‘Rudolph fits the part of the ideal character for how general manager Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott seem to want to cast their team. Consider this: in last year’s draft, every one of the six players the Bills selected was a four-year player in college. I don’t think that was by coincidence. They targeted players with experience. In this draft, the only other highly-touted QB to do that (as far as actual game experience) is Baker Mayfield, who played one year at Texas Tech then three at Oklahoma.’

‘Trying to take into account the group of players that will most likely be gone by the time they’re on the clock again, here’s a list of four players who could potentially be available and a fit for the Bills…’.

‘Mike Klis from 9News in Denver says that the Bills, Dolphins, and Cardinals have all checked in with the Broncos about trading up to five. With the Browns, Giants, and Jets ahead of that pick it would be likely that at least two and maybe three quarterbacks would already be off the board.’

‘Allen, who had no FBS offers coming out of high school and had to go the junior college route for a year, reportedly had a pre-draft visit with the Bills. He is said to have also met with Cleveland, Denver, Miami, and both New York teams. Over the last two weeks, there have been numerous stories claiming the Browns are planning to take Allen with the first overall pick.’

‘As far as the potential negatives on the Mayfield resume, he doesn’t have the prototypical NFL height. Mayfield was measured at six foot 5/8 at the combine. Some might also wonder about his competitiveness which can be over the top at times, depending on your point of view. Mayfield’s flag planting at midfield after a win at Ohio State and a crotch grabbing incident during a game at Kansas might be pointed out by some as a lack of maturity.’

‘But what if they can’t trade up and there are no QBs general manager Brandon Beane deems worthy enough of selecting with the No. 12 overall pick Thursday night? In that case, if the Bills decide to go in a different direction and address QB later, here are two linebackers and two wide receivers, both needy positions, who could potentially land in Buffalo and how they would fit the Bills…’.

‘Cross your fingers and hope the Bills are no worse than 4-4 at that point. If they are, they could take advantage of the remainder of the schedule which includes five home games. My concern is a Bills team that has some big roster questions at this point will be 3-5 or even 2-6 midway through.’
