‘According to both NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport and ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, Poyer suffered a hyperextended elbow during Tuesday’s training camp session. However, the good news is Poyer’s injury is not expected to keep him out of regular season action.’

‘Jaquan Johnson, Damar Hamlin, and Josh Thomas are the other listed safeties on the team, and all get work when either Poyer or Hyde are out. Cornerback Nick McCloud also gets some reps at the spot.’

‘McKenzie has been one of the best-looking players so far, and is taking advantage of all the reps with the ones. He is showing the ability to run a variety of routes, is catching everything thrown his way, and is making plays at all levels of the field.’

‘Once again on Monday, McKenzie made plays all over the field, from catching crossing routes and getting extra yards to grabbing a deep ball on the sidelines. He’s been excellent since Day 1.’

‘”I think the most important thing is to embrace the pressure and expectations,” said Dorsey Howard Simon and Jeremy White on WGR. “I also think it’s important to manage those expectations and realize that every year is a new year. You’re not going to be able to pick up right where you left off, the goal is to just get better and better each year.”‘

‘On a growing number of p;layers on the injury list, McDermott reiterated how important it is to be available. “I’m always concerned whenever a guy misses. It’s missed reps and in this case availability and unavailability creates a challenge for new players developing a rapport.”’

‘Not much came of it after that but it was very notable because you don’t often see a quarterback involved in something like that at training camp since they aren’t allowed to be hit, and especially don’t see QBs actually initiating the first shove.’

‘Coming into camp this year, McKenzie came in with his own expectations. “I wanted to prove I could be an every down receiver, not just a gadget guy, you know, get a play here and there and get out.”’

‘Jaquan Johnson took some of the reps in Hyde’s place, but Damar Hamlin and Josh Johnson also got their share of reps. In fact, Hamlin came up with an interception of quarterback Case Keenum during 11-on-11.’

‘The team was mostly in the red zone, when it came to offense against defense and 11-on-11, and Allen was absolutely dialed in from the start and throughout, hitting touchdown after touchdown to various receivers.’

‘“Everyone’s got their own skill set, and we have to figure out how to get them on the field,” said fifth-year signal caller. “There’s only one ball to go around, and only five skill position guys can be on the field at a time.”’

‘While I would say the defense had a better day overall, the offense still had their share of highlights and big plays.’

‘“First-and-foremost, I want to be here,” said Knox at training camp.’

‘The defense had a few of the bigger plays early on, including several interceptions. Quarterback Josh Allen threw two of them, with one of them coming on a clear miscommunication with his wideouts. That allowed cornerback Dane Jackson to make an easy play on the ball. The next came when safety Jordan Poyer read the play perfectly and was able to get in position to step in front of a pass that looked to be floated just a little bit.’

‘Not only was Poyer here, but so was his agent Drew Rosenhaus. After practice, Poyer told the media that not showing up for camp was never something he considered, and that Rosenhaus and Bills general manager Brandon Beane are “talking things out” as far as his contractual situation.’
