‘To be the dominant edge rusher the Bills have lacked since Williams enjoyed a 14.5 sack season in 2014. Miller is exactly the kind of player the Bills have needed throughout Sean McDermott’s tenure as head coach, an edge rusher who opposing offensive coordinators have to account for on every play.’

‘Howard was picked No. 19 overall in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, but his career has been marked by injuries. He has played in just 59 of a possible 81 games and has 119 catches for 1,737 yards and 15 TDs.’

‘Unlike Lotulelei who really hasn’t been any of those three things the last two years, Jones has been the opposite. Since 2015 he has missed only four games, all of those in 2017.’

‘Tuesday, the second day of the legal tampering window where teams can work out free agent deals with player agents, Beane turned toward a skill position in an effort to give Josh Allen another weapon to work with. The Bills agreeed to terms with running back J.D. McKissic on what is a reported two-year, $7 million contract.’

‘“Me and Aaron Kromer, we worked together on the LA Rams for two years when we had one of the top offensive lines in the NFL,” he said. “We were able to get to a Super Bowl together, we were able to turn the entire team around and get us to start getting into playoff games.’

‘McKenzie originally joined the Bills from Denver in 2018 and began to get meaningful playing time in 2019. That year he caught 27 passes for 254 yards and a touchdown, and also rushed 8 times for 49 yards, prompting the Bills to sign him for 2020.’

Here’s a breakdown of what Beane and his personnel staff, with obvious input from coach Sean McDermott, are looking at this week, and what I think they should do.’

‘If we learned anything about Dotson in the two seasons since, and from his Combine performance in Indianapolis last week, it’s this: The kid is not slow (he ran a 4.43 in the 40), and he clearly overcame the adverse Minnesota moment and produced two outstanding seasons in 2020 and 2021 when he totaled 143 catches for 2,066 yards and 20 TDs, all of which has vaulted him into first-round draft territory.’

‘From when he suffered a calf injury on Halloween against Miami, Feliciano played only 17 more offensive snaps the rest of the year. Coach Sean McDermott stuck with Ike Boettger at left guard. When Boettger was lost for the season against Tampa Bay, seemingly opening a starting spot for Feliciano, the team turned to Ryan Bates instead.’

‘By releasing Klein, the Bills are almost back to even as it saves them $5.1 million with a paltry dead cap hit of $400,000. That’s why this move was perhaps the most obvious one the team was going to make before the start of free agency next week.’

‘The consensus among draft evaluators is that Wilson will go first, probably in the top 15, while Olave was initially projected to last until the bottom third of the round, meaning the Buffalo Bills at No. 25 may have had a shot if they desire.’

‘Even if Wallace comes back, the Bills need corners, and it’s about time they swung high for one.’

‘“We’ve always enjoyed the set-up there and Sean and I both are strong believers in the camaraderie that you get and the bond you can build,” general manager Brandon Beane told the team website. “Guys aren’t feeling the pressure to get home or anything like that, and that’s important.”‘

‘If a trade partner can be found for the soon-to-be 33-year-old, it most likely will not bring back a player to replace Beasley as the Bills’ slot receiver. The compensation would almost certainly be in a draft pick or two, and probably nothing higher than perhaps a fourth-round pick.’

‘“We’ll see what happens with Jameson Williams from Alabama, because in a world where he doesn’t get hurt, he’s a top 10 pick,” said NFL.com draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah. “Coming off of an ACL you would think there would be a full recovery there and man, it could end up being a tremendous value for somebody towards the bottom of the first round if he ends up sliding down there.”’
