‘More frustrating is that many of the interceptions are throws that shouldn’t leave his hand, including one in the last minute of the first half that led to a Denver field goal. Teams live with mistakes from players the caliber of Allen, but at some point there needs to be urgency to improve.’

‘Despite all the bravado and reassurances, nothing seems to change. It’s the same, stale offense week after week. Instead of carrying the team at a time when the defense is missing five starters, it forced the defense to preserve a win or make a stop on the final drive for a fifth consecutive game.’

‘During Sean McDermott’s tenure as head coach, the Bills have gone 31-16 over the final eight games of the season, including a 7-0 stretch last year — the Bengals game, of course, was canceled after Damar Hamlin’s injury — and a 7-1 in 2020. Buffalo can’t afford to wait so long to turn on the jets this time, but McDermott has also guided the Bills to a 14-2 mark during regular-season games in December and January the previous three seasons.’
