Obviously, he was a guy we targeted and, in this business, in general, when you have an agreement, it’s good,” Beane said Friday. “But until there’s ink on the paper, and his agent did a great job. ‘The Bills elected not to designate as a post-June 1 release, a league source told ESPN, which would have resulted in less dead cap but would have delayed the savings. The soon-to-be 30-year-old is coming off a strong season and has become a reliable part of the line for quarterback Josh Allen over the past three years, but the team could not afford to keep him on for his prior cap amount.’

‘The Bills’ wide receiver room is expected to see change this offseason with the team approving Cole Beasley’s request to seek a trade earlier this month. He currently has a cap hit of $7.6 million in 2022 as Buffalo has been working to open up more cap space. If Beasley were to depart, McKenzie would be a natural candidate to slide into the slot receiver role.’

‘A key selling point for the Giants is having Trubisky reunite with coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen. Both came from Buffalo, where Trubisky spent last season after four years with the Chicago Bears.’

‘Beasley’s camp first approached the Bills about the possible move, and the team agreed to allow the slot receiver to investigate other options. Finding a solution for his impact on the salary cap seemed inevitable as he is currently set to account for $7.6 million in cap space on the final year of a four-year, $29 million contract.’
