Two Bills Drive

'Next year, the Bills play against the NFC South and the AFC West. They won't have quite as much travel as they did in 2016 when they made three trips to the west coast.'

'New York had just extended its lead to 23-3 in the fourth quarter and Nick Folk kicked the ball to Buffalo's 15-yard line. Mike Gillislee appeared to be responsible to field the kick, but he failed to do so and the ball bounced all the way into the end zone. Gillislee still had time to recover the ball but stopped himself and allowed the Jets' Doug Middleton to recover the ball for a Jets touchdown.'

'McCoy finishes the season with 1,623 yards from scrimmage and 14 total touchdowns. He was voted to his fifth Pro Bowl and will be 29 years old at the start of next season.'

'Williams entered today's game with 63 tackles and five sacks. He's been named to four Pro Bowl teams in his career with the Bills and was a first-team All-Pro in 2010.'

'Lynn played running back for the Broncos from 1997-1999 and won two Super Bowl championships with the team during that time. In his first two seasons in Denver, he played with current Broncos general manager John Elway. He retired after the 1999 season as a player and served as a special teams assistant with the Broncos from 2000-2002.'

'Frank Reich, Buffalo's former backup quarterback, has been linked to the job in the past. He interviewed for the Bills' head coaching vacancy in 2015 after Doug Marrone opted out of his contract with the team. Reich is currently the Philadelphia Eagles' offensive coordinator. The Eagles have scored 22.7 points per game with a rookie quarterback, Carson Wentz, running the offense. Before joining the Eagles, Reich served as offensive coordinator of the Chargers from 2014-2015.'

'Bradley had an unsuccessful four-year run as the Jaguars' head coach, but he was considered one of the best coordinators in football when he served as the Seahawks' defensive coordinator under Pete Carrol. Bradley runs a 4-3 scheme that most believe would better suit the Bills' defensive personnel, which struggled to adapt to Rex Ryan's 3-4 defense.'

'The Bills also proved once again that they’re lost at the quarterback position.'

'Lynn’s team made several errors that do not make a head coach look good.'

'Bills running back Reggie Bush finished the season with 12 carries for minus-3 yards, becoming the first NFL running back to have negative yards rushing with 10 or more carries. He had no carries against the Jets.'

'The plan to hire Lynn could still be derailed in Buffalo because he is still required to conduct a formal interview. There's also the potential of other teams expressing interest to interview him for their respective openings.'

'Kicker Dan Carpenter kicked a 34-yard field goal and Mike Gillislee rushed for a 1-yard touchdown with 39 seconds left in the fourth quarter for Buffalo (7-9), which missed the playoffs for the 17th straight season — the longest drought amongst the four major American pro sports teams.'

'McCoy was apparently hurt while being dragged down for a 2-yard loss on the first snap of the second quarter. He was briefly evaluated on the Bills' bench before being taken to the locker room. The Bills, who were eliminated from playoff contention last weekend, announced a few minutes later that McCoy was done for the day.'

'"Gus and I are friends," Lynn said Sunday. "We've been friends for a while and he's a good defensive coordinator. Someone told me about him being tied to me. I don't know about all that."'

'McCoy came up limping after rushing for a 2-yard loss on the first play of the second quarter. He was examined by trainers on the bench before being taken off on a cart.'
