Two Bills Drive

One of the top cornerbacks in the draft, White is more than just a replacement for Stephon Gilmore, the Pats’ new $14 million man who was signed as a restricted free agent. White played on the outside, at nickel corner and even at safety at times in college.'

'"These moves were if our player was there. We were going to look to do something as opposed to sitting around," McDermott said. "We were able to do some things with that first-round pick where we gained some ammunition to be able to move some things around."'

According to McDermott, Peterman will compete with Taylor and second-year backup Cardale Jones for the Bills' starting job.'

'The 6' 0", 225-pound linebacker spent four years with the Eagles totaling 140 career tackles, 32.5 tackles for loss, one interception and 14.0 sacks. The Orlando, Florida native was named the team's most valuable player this past season, and was named as a 2016 first-team All-ACC player from Pro Football Focus.'

'Vallejo's best season perhaps came in his sophomore season with a team-high 99 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, three sacks and an interception. He was also named to the 2014 All-Mountain West Second-Team roster. At the 2014 Vizio Fiesta Bowl, Vallejo registered 14 total tackles and 1.5 sacks in Boise State's 38-30 win over the Arizona Wildcats. With his performance, Vallejo earned the Defensive Most Valuable Player honors.'

'Whether Doug Whaley is still in control of the 53-man roster or not, it’s clear McDermott has a big say in what’s happening in the Bills Draft War Room. He even referred to himself in the first person when talking about the first trade made, saying, for example, "I didn't want to" trade all the way out of the first round. So wheteher both have equal power in the process, or McDermott was making the final call, this draft class will forever be attached to him. And that say has been all about wheeling and dealing since the draft kicked off Thursday night.'

'When watching him play, you could see a player that feels very comfortable in space and moves fairly well, but even though he's a quick mover, he can get caught in coverage with a little bit of tightness. He is, however, an explosive player that can help bridge the gap in some coverage woes he may have.'

'This is a great pickup for the Buffalo Bills at this point of the draft for one very important reason. Though you have some concerns with Peterman — hence, the reason he dropped into the fifth round altogether — the Bills using the selection on the quarterback signals a changing of the guard in draft philosophy over at One Bills Drive.'

'Vallejo’s 2016 season was mostly defined by injuries. He’s a smaller linebacker at 6-foot-1 and 228-pounds but I believe he has the quickness to likely play either middle linebacker or weakside linebacker in Sean McDermott’s scheme.'
