'That working relationship is the main reason to be encouraged by this Bills hire. Beane doesn't have experience as an area scout, but he has handled a variety of roles in football operations over the last 19 years with the Carolina Panthers. It's noteworthy that he'll control the 53-man roster, but the majority of NFL general managers control the 53. It would be naive to think McDermott's hands won't be all over every decision this team is making.'
