Two Bills Drive

'The fast-moving program, which will be competing with the start of Game 5 of the NBA playoffs between Golden State and Cleveland on WKBW-TV (Channel 7), will have multiple airings over the next few weeks.'

'Each part of the series is sure to stir debate among Bills fans and media.'

'After missing out on Maclin, Buffalo could choose to stick with their current receivers or pursue Eric Decker. It's not common for a receiver to be traded in-division, but the Jets may do so as they appear to be in the midst of a full rebuild.'

'"Would love to have a guy like him on our team competing and coming out and making plays for us," Taylor said shortly before Maclin's visit. "Would especially mean a lot to our wide receiver room, putting another veteran guy with a whole bunch of talent and still potential left to reach his best. I would love to have him."'

'There are plenty of reasons to believe Jones could finish first among his peers in rookie receiving yards. Sammy Watkins, Buffalo's No. 1 wide receiver, has missed 11 games in the last two years and it's possible that Jones serves as the team's top receiver at some point this season.'

'During Maclin's visit to Buffalo, running back LeSean McCoy and Tyrod Taylor were featured in a social media post by McCoy with Maclin. Both also submitted their interest in signing Maclin to the media just two days after his release, at McCoy's charity softball game.'

'After being cut by Kansas City earlier this month, Maclin visited Buffalo and Baltimore last week. He chose the Ravens, who announced the signing on Monday.'

'Maclin, 29, who was surprisingly cut by the Kansas City Chiefs on June 2, made visits to both the Ravens and the Buffalo Bills last week. However, a source told ESPN's Josina Anderson that Maclin's decision came down to the Ravens and Philadelphia Eagles and that the Bills were not a factor in his final decision.'

'The Bills apparently came in third place in the Maclin sweepstakes. According to ESPN.com, Maclin's decision came down to the Ravens and Eagles.'

'"Yeah, I mean, it’s fun. I’ve been in competition since high school. With all the linebackers, not just Reggie but whoever it is, we’re all competing to play. I mean, we’re all trying to make the team better. The best three are going to play, (or) the best four or whoever is out there is going to play and have fun."'

'I'm told the Bills made one final offer to the 29-year old wideout before he chose to go to Baltimore "shortly after."'

'Second round draft pick Zay Jones is now back in full participation mode, after missing most of the OTAs with a knee strain. He’s looking to challenge for playing time outside, and he thinks being on the sideline for the last several weeks was not a significant setback.'

'“I just want to be respected. It goes back even when I was coming out of high school when I was being recruited by Iowa. Since day one they were there and interested in me, respected me for what I could do on the football field and even off the football field. It’s kind of the same aspect in free agency. I just want to be respected,” Hyde said. “Buffalo was there since day one, showing interest and I loved it. I talked to my agent before the free agency process and I said that I wanted to go somewhere that I will play and also I want good coaching and to be respected. I can’t think of a better place than Buffalo.”'

'"But at the end of the day, I'm trusting what the doctors told me, (that) my left knee is just as strong as my right one," Ragland told reporters. "So, after that, I'm like, 'OK, cool. I'm trusting it.' So ever since then, I really didn't think about it on the field."'
