Two Bills Drive

'"What a lot of people don't know is when I came in here, a month before that I couldn't work out because of my foot," Williams said. "I was sitting at home doing upper body lifts. I couldn't run or cut. So I just came out here for rookie minicamp and did the best I could do. I'm definitely 100 percent healthy now. I feel really good. I've been able to get a really good offseason in. I'm a lot healthier than last year and a lot leaner and excited to go."'

'Not only did Tyrod Taylor and company have their best drive of training camp, but they also added a playmaker this afternoon. Here are our takeaways.'

'Andre Holmes is listed as a starter at wide receiver along with Sammy Watkins despite an up and down training camp. Holmes has had issues with drops in camp and could be one of the few starters from the first unofficial depth chart to lose their job before the start of the season. Don't be surprised if the Bills' top three receivers in Week 1 of the regular season are Watkins, Zay Jones and Anquan Boldin.'

'"You know, I coached against Steve," Seely said. "He was one of those guys that was a fantastic football player. And again people say the kicking game is one-third of the game, well then that should be part of the Hall of Fame. This guy in Buffalo, he created a lot of advantages for the Bills just by field position by what he did. So there's a guy, to me, that is extremely worthy of consideration to go to the Hall of Fame because he was a difference maker in that area. And that's what the Hall of Fame is supposed to be about."'

'"I was very confident that we were a fit and that he thought we were a fit for him," Buffalo general manager Brandon Beane said. "This was an important family decision for him… we weren't going to try and talk him into something that wasn't a good family fit.'

'Maybe I'm wrong, but regardless, going forward with Jones, and even Sammy Watkins, having been in a locker room with the 37-year-old? Sounds like it's going to be impactful. Although, I'd bet Boldin has a grab or two.'

'TJ Yates had another day of holding onto the ball for too long, taking four sacks including one where the coaching staff blew the play dead during 7-on-7's.'

'"Even if his speed is not what it was, and you know he was never a burner, but he still knows how to win," Beane said. "Contested balls? He comes down with his fair share and then some."'

'"We're very excited to get Anquan on board and see what he brings from a leadership standpoint, and obviously his production speaks for itself," said Beane.'

'"He is here to provide depth and help us — he'll compete to do everything. Everybody is going to compete to start, for playing time. My job is to bring as many players I can to help this roster. That's up to [offensive coordinator Rick] Dennison, [coach] Sean [McDermott] and receivers coach [Phil McGeoghan] how they work they work him in," he said.'

'“It all came down to opportunity.” Alexander said with Howard Simon and Jeremy White from Bills training camp at St. John Fisher College on Monday morning. “I think that’s what a lot of guys in this league either have or don’t have on a consistent basis. I was fortunate enough, obviously not fortunate enough in the sense that we had (the Bills) to lose Manny Lawson and I.K. [Enemkpali] to injury but fortunate enough to have that opportunity to go out there for 16 weeks and showcase my talent and not just be a spot player and have to come in and do something in 5-6 plays.'

'“He was very successful in Seattle and he’s made clutch kicks, but with Seattle not being the greatest weather, it’s really going to tie into what we do in playing in our division, especially the times where we’re going to be traveling there (New Jersey and Foxborough), that’s going to be big.”'

'Last season with the Detroit Lions, Boldin started in all 16 games played with 67 receptions for 584 yards, and eight touchdowns while averaging 8.7 yards per-reception.'

'Andre Holmes number could switch from 81. Anquan Boldin tweeted a picture of himself after signing in a Bills uniform with the number 81.'

'QB Tyrod Taylor had a very good practice, especially in the 2-minute drill with starters going against each other. Taylor threw with good velocity and accuracy and ended the drive with a 20-yard TD strike to Charles Clay in the middle the field. After that play, according to ESPN (I was standing further away and did not hear or see this), Taylor ran by several reporters on the sidelines and said "Write about that!"'
