Inside the Bills: Skyler Bell, other drafted rookies patiently wait their turn

‘Bell, Bowry, Kilgore and Reed-Adams are ready to play, but they have been healthy inactives during the team’s 3-0 start. It is a sobering dose of reality for four players who are accustomed to being among the very best players every time they’ve stepped onto a football field until this point in their lives.’

Bills notebook: Josh Allen ready for the New England blitz; Christian Benford misses second day

‘“They make life extremely hard for you, especially running the ball,” Allen said. “Give a lot of different blitz looks on your passing downs, especially on third down, third and medium, third and long. So yeah, we have to try to find everything we can find in the film, go out and practice it, and try to rep it as much as we can.”’

Josh Allen is doing something no NFL quarterback has ever done

‘Allen’s second touchdown against Los Angeles also gave him 85 career rushing touchdowns, tying former Bills running back Marshawn Lynch for 17th on the NFL’s all-time list. That is not 17th among quarterbacks. It is 17th among everyone.’

Buffalo Bills under fire from some fans over water bottles

‘Discussion of the water issue dominated during Wednesday morning sports talk segments of WGR 55 in Buffalo, despite the 3-0 Bills hosting a key matchup with the reigning AFC champion Patriots (1-2) on Sunday and the Buffalo Sabres opening their NHL season Wednesday night in Columbus.’

Rousseau honored as AFC Defensive Player of the Month after sensational start

‘His numbers put him among all-time greats in NFL and Bills’ history. His six sacks were the most in team history through three games, and he was the third Bills player to have a streak of three or more games with 2+ sacks at any point in the season, joining Bruce Smith (1990) and Bryce Paup (1995).’

Bills DL T.J. Sanders returned to practice nine days after appendectomy

‘hen he arrived for treatment on his ailing knee, Sanders was excited. The second-year defensive lineman was ready to return to practice after missing the first two games of the regular season. Then his stomach started to twist and the pain was intense. Trainers convinced Sanders to get his stomach scanned. He agreed and then returned to the facility for more treatment on his knee. As he was leaving, trainers told Sanders he had to go back to the hospital for surgery for an appendectomy.’

Time for a change: After 53 years, Bills fans finally get their own football palace with new Highmark Stadium

‘The new Highmark was built with $850 million in public funds, and is a glorious shrine to Bills football. Sight lines are magnificent, as the seating bowl was built more vertically than horizontally. The concourse goes 360 degrees around the stadium and is open-air throughout, allowing fans to still watch the game while they buy concessions. The stadium is outdoors to maintain the Bills’ frigid home-field advantage but was built with a roof covering approximately 65 percent of seats. Though the Bills reduced capacity by about 10,000 seats to 60,000, the smallest in the NFL, the stadium is loud, with the crowd roar bouncing off the roof and concrete walls.’

Here’s what Philip Rivers brought to his 4-hour head coaching interview with the Bills

‘“Jimmy called me, and Jimmy doesn’t call me very often unless something’s going down,” Rivers told Jeremiah. “He said, ‘Hey, the Bills want you to come Friday, down to (Bills owner) Mr. (Terry) Pegula’s place, and interview for the head job.’ This was on Wednesday. I was like, ‘Holy smokes, Jimmy,’ and he said, ‘Yeah, you don’t have to tell me right now, but let’s talk in the morning.’”’

Philip Rivers discusses the process behind nearly being an NFL head coach

‘“They called me not to come in there and try to act like somebody else. They called me to come in there and be myself. So, you know, I showed up in a golf shirt and some khakis and some boots and a notebook under my arm. The TV was behind me. They said, “Hey, do you have any audio, video stuff you need to hook up for the for the interview? And I, I laid my notebook down. I said, “It’s all right here, guys.”’

Allen seeks to put sloppy play behind him as Bills host turnover-prone Maye and the Patriots

‘Win or lose, Josh Allen has displayed a consistent knack for putting a sloppy performance behind him. It’s reflected in the smile and cheery “How’s everybody doing?” greeting the Bills quarterback opens each of his weekly news conferences with. And it bears out in the numbers: the ninth-year player has never lost more than two straight starts and holds a 30-8 record following a loss.’

Greg Rousseau’s sacks, Josh Allen’s rushing TDs are on record paces

‘With two rushing touchdowns in Week 4 against the New England Patriots on Sunday (1 p.m. ET, CBS), Allen would be the first player in NFL history — regardless of position — to punch in multiple touchdowns in four straight games to start a season. He’s already in rarified company by even doing so in his first three games; only Priest Holmes (2003), Stephen Davis (1999) and Hall of Famer Jim Brown (1958) had done so previously.’

Bills QB Josh Allen just made NFL history no player has before

‘Now, Allen is getting respect in the NFL. Not that he didn’t have it before, but it’s continuing for the 2026-27 season.’

Philip Rivers shares in-depth details about his Bills head coaching interview

‘”It was a big boardroom and somewhat intimidating,” he said. “It’s like ownership, the GM, assistant GMs. Josh Allen was in there. He was obviously in every interview. Brandon Beane, and they go, and the TV was behind me. They said, ‘Hey, do you have any audio-video stuff you need to hook up for the interview?’ I laid my notebook down and said it’s all right here guys. I don’t have the book to go through like these other guys do.”‘

Greg Rousseau named AFC Defensive Player of the Month

‘Last Sunday in the Bills’ 24-16 win over the Los Angeles Chargers at Highmark Stadium, Rousseau became just the third player in NFL history to begin a season with, at least, two sacks in his team’s first three games.’
