‘“It’s important that we keep developing some of these young players because we know. We’ve seen it. It’s a 17-game season and you hope that you have the opportunity to play in the playoffs. And if you do, you look at every team, guys that started the season either not on the roster or on the practice squad are playing meaningful minutes.”’

Bills notebook: Brandon Beane on roster, injuries and attendance
‘Special teams will be a huge factor for how the Bills set their game-day rosters, and it was a key to the evaluation process as well. But it’s not everything. Fullback Ben VanSumeren had a strong camp on special teams, but the Bills ultimately decided to go with four tight ends instead of a fullback. It doesn’t necessarily mean a huge philosophical shift, though. “It’s one that right now we don’t currently have a fullback on the roster,” Beane said. “It doesn’t mean we would not add one back at some point. We’re not all of a sudden against it, but you’re trying to make the best decision.”’
Are Buffalo Bills games really the most expensive in the NFL? It’s not that simple
‘“I’m not disputing (the studies), and based on secondary market prices, it could certainly be true, but that’s what’s driving it – the demand,” he added. “Once we sold basically through the entire stadium with seat licenses, where those tickets end up is really predicated by the people who own them.”’
4 key takeaways from Bills coach, GM after final cuts
‘Alford is why Beane, at least so far, hasn’t added a veteran corner. He has shown the ability both in Atlanta the previous four years and now here in Buffalo to push outside if need be. And if that is needed, the Bills believe Jordan Hancock can take over in Alford’s spot in the slot.’
Bills stash LB who made 56 tackles for them last season on practice squad
‘Thompson played 12 games with six starts for Buffalo last season and finished seventh on the team with 56 tackles despite dealing with hamstring and neck injuries. He also had six tackles for loss, one sack and a forced fumble.’
Bills GM stands by Maxwell Hairston as starter despite summer struggles
‘“He knows what he needs to do there,” Beane said. “He had his eyes in the wrong spot. He didn’t bring his feet. Like there’s a couple technique things. It’s not easy, but he’ll do that. But from everything else, we have a lot of confidence in him.”’
Beane, Brady on Bills roster cuts, practice squad pickups, injury updates
‘“I feel really good about what’s on the 53, I do, assuming you can stay healthy, that’s the one thing you can never predict,” he said. “Obviously Christian speaks for himself. I’m excited about Max, IGB, and Dee Alford. I think he’s (Alford) shown a lot not only in the games, but you guys have been at practices seeing what he’s playing. That’s the great thing about Dee. He is our starting nickel, but Jordan Hancock’s done a nice job. If we feel like we need to move Dee outside for an injury or whatever’s going on, we can do that as well. So again, as we build our roster in different positions, we’re trying to have guys like the Hancock’s of the world that can play. Cam Lewis did that for us for a number of years, that can play multiple spots, and that helps you on game day because we talk about the 48 as much as we talk about the 53, who you can get up, who you can’t get up. We’re monitoring a lot of positions and where the vets are. The streets have been flooded with a lot of players, the practice squads are taking a number of those, but there’s still a number of vets out there. Different positions, and so yeah, we’ll monitor that each week, but I like where we’re at to start.”’
Three colleges and a year on the Bills’ practice squad fueled Keleki Latu’s ascent to the active roster
‘It was hard not to smirk when thinking about his football journey.’
Simmons: Is this finally the year for Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills?
‘This becomes the annual challenge for Allen and the Bills in this year of a brand new stadium and an AFC that may be more open for business than ever before. Tom Brady won two Super Bowls on two different teams in Allen’s early years in the NFL. When Allen was just a kid, so was Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City. The Chiefs won three Super Bowls with Mahomes at quarterback and he remains there today along with Super Bowl coach Andy Reid and the superb defensive lineman Chris Jones who works in tandem with the great defensive coordinator, Steve Spagnuolo.’
Here’s what needs to happen for the Buffalo Bills to win it all | On Sports
‘Become more defensive: This unit’s inability to stop opponents in the postseason is ultimately what’s prevented the Bills from getting over the playoff hump and what got Sean McDermott fired. Try as they may – and General Manager Brandon Beane certainly has tried with a bevy of high draft picks and highly publicized free agent signings – Buffalo hasn’t fielded enough game-changers on defense; guys who can close out games with extreme quarterback pressure and turnovers. McDermott’s bend-but-don’t-break philosophy will be replaced by a more aggressive approach by new defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard. We’ll see if an attacking, high-risk, high-reward style makes a difference and if Leonhard has enough studs to make it work.’
Bills get number of key players back at practice Tuesday
‘Among the players returning to practice in some capacity on Tuesday included center Connor McGovern, wide receiver Keon Coleman, linebacker Terrel Bernard, and safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson.’
Ten Lives Club lands new headquarters thanks to Tyler Bass
‘For Ten Lives Club, a significant portion of the funds it used to acquire the building came from more than $400,000 Bills fans raised in honor of Bass following the backlash of a missed field goal in the 2023 NFL Playoffs. Bass selected Ten Lives Club as the primary local not-for-profit he backs.’
Grass field is pulled up at new Highmark Stadium
‘The Kentucky bluegrass at the stadium was peeled up, revealing the surface below. A green tractor was doing laps, and the sprinklers were going.’
Buffalo Bills aim to overcome ‘playoff wall’ with 2026 roster
‘”There’s not a person in this room or this city or wherever that has higher expectations, and I’m always asking them myself.” Brady said.’
Bills Block Party returning to downtown Rochester for season opener
‘Buffalo Bills fans will once again be able to cheer on their team from the heart of downtown Rochester when the Bills Block Party returns to East and Alexander streets.’
