‘“In college, I was so used to being the first option, first read on everything,” Bell said Thursday. “So, I think when I got here, I realized that that’s not going to be the case, and you got to know how to play without the ball. And I think that’s just where I’ve been making strides.”

Hairston had one of the lowlights of the evening when he missed an open-field tackle on a short pass to receiver Germie Bernard. Sherfield will be a priority practice squad addition and he spent plenty of time on p-squads the past few seasons. Mecole Hardman has been in the punt return battle all summer but his inconsistent hands make him untrustworthy.’
