‘Simpson was all of those aforementioned good things but he also was, in my opinion, given the preponderance of evidence presented, a double-murderer. I realize not all will agree with me on that. Race factored into the jury’s decision to acquit Simpson – the result of Los Angeles’ long and sorry history of police brutality and unjust rulings against Black people. But the man had a tempestuous, often abusive relationship with his late wife, Nicole, who was killed along with her friend, Ron Goldman, that fateful day in 1994. And let’s not forget that Simpson also served nine years in prison for armed robbery in the years following his acquittal.’
