Bills notebook: Lloyd Cushenberry labeled by Joe Brady as starting-caliber center

‘”Lloyd is a starting center in the NFL,” Brady told reporters Tuesday at the NFL league meeting. “You go through the process, going into free agency, there was a chance we lost both Connor and David, right? It was keeping me up at night, with some of those thoughts. Lloyd is a guy, I know he’s coming off of an injury, but Lloyd was a possibility of being our starter, or just a guy that we would think about as a starter.”‘

Bills coach Joe Brady talks Super Bowl but knows Patriots come first

‘“And I’m not saying our guys had that mindset, but it’s the NFL, a team can come in last place one year and they can come in first place the next. We’ve got to wake up and have the competitive stamina to be able to work every single day without worrying about what a team’s record is or whatnot. I hope that our guys don’t necessarily care who was in the Super Bowl but know that, hey, the team that is in our division, that wore the t-shirts last year, they were in the Super Bowl and we’ve got to do everything we can regardless of who that is, that it’s us in those positions.”’

Joe Brady is excited to coach DJ Moore again

‘”I am fortunate that I know D.J.” Brady said to reporters Tuesday here at the annual league meetings in Phoenix. “But D.J. has a unique skill set that he can he can play inside, he can play outside. He can run block. He makes dynamic plays down the field. You can get the ball in his hands and he’s a little bit like a running back. He can do so many different things. And, you know, knock on wood, he plays. He practices. He’s out there every day. He’s playing every game, and he is playing and he’s not coming off the field. And that’s unique at the wide receiver position. It’s been a while since I’ve been coaching him, and I’ve been wanting to coach him for the last few years. And so having that opportunity to kind of do it again excites me.”‘

Joe Brady still believes in Keon Coleman

‘”The growth that Keon’s gonna have from this year to next, like, Keon is on our football team. I’ve never said anything negative. I was the first to tell everybody I wanted Keon Coleman, so Keon’s not going to just be pushed aside, he’s going to continue to develop and (wide receivers coach) Drew Terrell will have a great plan of what we’re going to do to be able to get him to be the receiver that we ultimately drafted him to be.”‘

Goodell “excited” for new Bills stadium to open

‘”I have a great deal of pride in Western New York,” he said. “But I also have a great deal of pride in the Bills, and how they’ve been able to work through and get the stadium in a great public-private partnership with the state, the county, and Terry Pegula and his team stepping up. So I’m excited. I haven’t seen the stadium in a few months, but we saw some more pictures this week that have me even more excited, so I look forward to being there.”‘

Deconstruction of Highmark Stadium begins

‘“As exciting as it is to get all the stuff out and into everyone’s homes as fast as we can it’s emotional, it’s a little sad because I know what has transpired in this stadium the love connection the family. It’s almost a religious experience,” Steiner said. “The fact that it’s coming down I think people will be excited to be in the new stadium 100%, but they’re never going to not have a little sadness that they’re going to miss this one.”’

Fans can own a piece of Highmark Stadium as dismantling begins

‘According to project manager Brandon Steiner, the process has been underway for weeks. Crews began removing signs in February, followed by seats and bleachers in March. The dismantling continues today, and in the next 10 days, crews are expected to begin cutting up sections of the field itself to sell to fans.’
