Analysis: With playoffs looming, Bills still face plenty of defensive questions

‘The defense has certainly contributed to the Bills’ last two victories. The comeback against Cincinnati in Week 14 doesn’t happen without a pair of timely takeaways. The victory over New England started off miserable for the defense, but progressively got better, to the point that the Patriots had five possessions after halftime, and four of them ended without points.’

Buffalo Bills ‘still working’ on downfield passing, but can draw on Week 15’s 2nd-half success

‘“We’re still working on that. I’m still working that, and it’s something that I’m looking forward to continue working on this week. And if the opportunities present themselves, I have to take advantage of them.”’

Myles Garrett, the Browns’ record-chasing pass rusher, is next test for Bills’ offense

‘Garrett, a four-time All-Pro selection and the 2023 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, needs one sack Sunday in the Browns’ game against the Bills in Cleveland to break the single-season record held by the New York Giants’ Michael Strahan (2001) and the Pittsburgh Steelers’ T.J. Watt (2021).’

Bills open practice window for wide receiver Mecole Hardman; Jordan Phillips still out

‘The Bills will have 21 days to activate Hardman from injured reserve, or he’ll need to be placed on season-ending injured reserve.’

How the Bills can clinch a playoff spot as soon as Sunday with their game in Cleveland

‘A game Sunday against one of the worst teams in the NFL lacks the excitement and intrigue of the Buffalo Bills’ matchup against the New England Patriots, but the stakes are still high.’

Jim Kubiak: Josh Allen was unflappable, masterful vs. Patriots – simply, at his best

‘Allen’s overall performance was MVP-caliber. He was unflappable, dominant and masterful while overcoming a first half he would rather forget. In the game, Allen completed 18 of 29 attempts for 193 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. He also rushed 11 times for 48 yards.’

Bills lean on old guard to lead defense as playoff push heads to Cleveland

‘In fact, White and Poyer had been deemed expendable prior to 2024 and played elsewhere, then were brought back into the fold this year, and the Bills sliced off the 2026 season from Milano’s contract, an indication that they felt his best days were behind him and they wanted to save some cap space next year.’

Two starters sidelined in latest injury report as Bills prep for Browns

‘Phillips suffered an ankle injury in the victory over the New England Patriots, while Prater injured the quad muscle on his kicking leg, and both have already been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns.’

Bills tackle has the perfect response to possibly giving up the NFL sack record to Myles Garrett

‘“I do like highlight tapes, but I don’t like being a part of other people’s highlight tapes,” Allen joked after practice on Wednesday. “He’s an absolutely tremendous football player. He’s one of the greatest of all times. He is a force to be reckoned with. And we’ve got to be ready for everything that they can throw at us. But you have to be aware of where 95’s at at all times.”’

Bills’ Spencer Brown can prove he’s a top NFL right tackle in matchup with Cleveland’s Myles Garrett

‘“He’s going to make plays and that’s a given,” Brown said. “… Walking Hall of Famer out there. You look forward to those competitions and just kind of proving yourself, seeing where you’re at and judging yourself and not shying away from competition.”’

Bills notebook: Bills continue to stump for fullback Reggie Gilliam amid Pro Bowl pursuit

‘Gilliam has been a mainstay on Buffalo’s kickoff, kick return, punt, punt return and field goal teams. But he re-signed with the Bills on a one-year deal during the offseason with the assurance that their late-season trend of using Gilliam more often on offense would continue.’

With playoff nemesis eliminated, Buffalo Bills can see Super Bowl path

‘Go ahead, tell me how a team – and one with a suspect, 30th-ranked run defense – can rally from a 21-0 deficit on the road to beat an opponent that was seemingly on the verge of breaking out division-title swag. And this, a week after overcoming a 10-point fourth-quarter hole.’

Add expectant father to Allen’s list of achievements in Buffalo, after Steinfeld announces pregnancy

‘“Yeah, I guess it’s like the evolution of life,” Allen said. “I consider this place my home. It’s where I’ve done a lot of growing up. And it’s a place that I’ll raise a family. It’s really cool.”’

Josh Allen reflects on growth he’s made since joining Bills and becoming expectant father
