Josh Allen’s big-play WR back on 53-man roster as Bills’ $24 million investment lands on IR

‘Nearing the end of his second season with the Bills, Samuel has recorded just 38 receptions for 334 yards and two touchdowns in 20 games played. Those stats will remain the same for at least the next four weeks after the team placed Samuel on the injured reserve with elbow and knee injuries.’

The Bills just lost their entire offensive tackle duo right before facing T.J. Watt

‘The Bills enter Sunday’s game against the Steelers on the heels of one of their worst offensive performances of the season. Allen was hit 12 times and sacked a career-high eight times. This week’s opponent brings a similar threat up front, led by All-Pro edge rusher T.J. Watt. The Steelers rank third in the NFL in average time to quarterback pressure at 2.39 seconds, per Sumer Sports.’

Bills enter must-win spot visiting Steelers

‘“Yeah, the urgency is up,” Bills head coach Sean McDermott said. “That’s important any time of year, but to your point, it’s mid to late November and heading into December, so every game is important. Not that it isn’t every other time of year, but every game is important. It’s a fun time of year when you’re in the hunt.”’

Bills offense eager to show it’s still one of the league’s best against Steelers

‘“Extremely high sense of urgency,” Bills quarterback Josh Allen said. “We understand where we’re at. At the same time, we have full confidence in ourselves, but it ultimately comes down to executing on gamedays. We’ve had some good, had some bad throughout the year. But there are a lot of teams that are wishing they were 7-4 and in the spot we are.”’

Dion Dawkins and Spencer Brown ruled out for Bills against Steelers

‘Left tackle Dawkins has not yet cleared the NFL’s concussion protocol. Brown is out with a right shoulder injury that could force him to miss multiple weeks. The right tackle suffered the injury in a 23-19 loss at Houston on Nov. 20.’

The Bills and Steelers both consider themselves playoff teams. Time is running out to prove it

‘“We understand where we’re at,” Buffalo quarterback and reigning NFL MVP Josh Allen said. “At the same time, we have full confidence in ourselves. But ultimately it comes down to executing on game days. We’ve had some good, we’ve had some bad throughout the year.”’

Buffalo visits Pittsburgh in a game that could have long-ranging playoff implications

‘Key matchup: Bills QB Josh Allen against the Steelers secondary. Allen has toyed with Pittsburgh in recent meetings. The Steelers’ veteran-laden group of defensive backs have underperformed most of the season. Seven-time Pro Bowler Jalen Ramsey moved to safety last month after Pittsburgh lost DeShon Elliott for the season. Ramsey will play an important role in keeping an eye on Allen, particularly if Allen decides to tuck the ball and run.’

Bills without starting tackles Dawkins, Brown vs. Steelers

‘They are dealing with injuries stemming from the team’s Week 12 loss to the Houston Texans. Brown suffered a shoulder injury in the game and tried to play through it, but he was unable to finish the game, sitting out the final drive.’

Bills’ offensive line depleted as tackles Dion Dawkins, Spencer Brown ruled out for matchup vs. Steelers

‘Dawkins is dealing with a concussion, while Brown has a shoulder injury. McDermott said that Dawkins was cleared to return to the Week 12 loss vs. Houston by an independent neurologist, but displayed concussion-like symptoms the next day. Allen’s blind-side blocker is a four-time Pro Bowler, and a major reason why the NFL introduced the new Protector of the Year award this season to honor the NFL’s best offensive lineman. Dawkins has made 133 career starts for the Bills over nine years.’

Bills officially rule out 4 key players for Steelers game as Dalton Kincaid awaits final decision

‘The two most notable from a narrative perspective are left tackle Dion Dawkins and right tackle Spencer Brown. Bills QB Josh Allen was sacked eight times in the loss to the Texans, and now he won’t have either of his bookends as he goes up against T.J. Watt and the Steelers.’

Buffalo Bills place wide receiver on IR, season could be over

‘The Bills have placed Curtis Samuel on injured reserve and have signed Gabe Davis to the active roster. Samuel will miss at least the next four games, and it looks very likely he could be out for the remainder of the season.’

Bills trying to avoid nightmare streak that hasn’t happened since 1986

‘The Bills have turned the ball over three times in three consecutive games. They haven’t done that four straight since 1986, according to ESPN.’

McDermott on backup offensive tackles: ‘What they lack in experience they’ll make up with grit’

‘With Dion Dawkins and Spencer Brown set to miss Sunday’s action, McDermott and the Bills will be forced to turn to Tylan Grable and Ryan Van Demark to fill the void and protect Allen. “What they lack in experience they will make up for in grit, resilience, and their preparation,” McDermott said on WGR.’

Opinion: Steelers going backwards

‘In the meantime, the Steelers have gone backwards, as offensive production has dipped and the defense is playing un-Steelers like. Pittsburgh has dropped four of its last six games, as they prepare to host the Buffalo Bills at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday.’
