Why aren’t the Bills forcing more turnovers? ‘We’ve gotta stop the run’

‘“The style of offenses that we’ve faced has changed a little bit, as well,” McDermott said. “People aren’t exposing the ball as much, so give credit, to some extent, to some of the offenses we’ve played. But then there’s also pieces that we can pull off .”’

Taylor Rapp still absent as Bills continue to prepare for Carolina Panthers

‘There were not changes to the Bills’ injury report, with safety Taylor Rapp (knee), wide receiver Joshua Palmer (knee/ankle) and defensive tackle DaQuan Jones (calf) still absent. Their official designation for the game Sunday in Charlotte will be revealed following practice Friday.’

Who will get to use the Erie County hospitality suite in the new Bills stadium? Legislators want a policy

‘“There’s only 12 seats in the suite, but what are we going to do with it? Why isn’t it already very transparent? So I think that we’re all on the same page, on both sides of aisle, that we should have some sort of policy that’s very clear and that’s not only a benefit for (elected leaders). This should be a benefit for the community.”’

Erik Brady: This version of a Buffalo dive bar is in the heart of Carolina Panthers country

‘”We’re like any corner bar in Buffalo where everyone just hangs out,” he says. “There’s some Buffalo memorabilia, but mostly we just make sure everyone has a good time.”‘

James Cook’s limited use raises big questions for Bills’ OC

‘In a game where the Bills were down just 21-14 with nearly 25 minutes left to play, James Cook had five touches the rest of the way, a big reason why Buffalo’s last four possessions ended with a turnover on downs, two punts, and an interception producing no points, a mere 83 yards and six first downs.’

How the Bills and Panthers became the NFL’s most intertwined teams

‘Between coaching hires, executives, free-agent signings and trades — remember Kelvin Benjamin? — the two franchises have shared dozens of personnel since 2017. What began as a front-office connection eight years ago has turned into one of the NFL’s most consistent pipelines.’

Has the cavalry arrived for Bills? How 2 returning defenders could spark defense

‘Adding Hoecht and Ogunjobi should provide a boost and help Beane finally realize the vision he had for the defense back in March and April. Ed Oliver is the superstar in the middle, and the Bills have had a solid pass rush on the outside with Joey Bosa and A.J. Epenesa. Bosa has posted 24 pressures in his first season with the Bills. His 18.46% pressure rate ranks 7th overall in the NFL. Epenesa’s 17.65% pressure rate ranks 12th in the league.’

Panthers’ Dave Canales has no shame about why he just signed this former Bills quarterback

‘Despite joining the team, White isn’t expected to be an option to back up Andy Dalton if Young cannot go. That job will likely go to practice squad quarterback Hendon Hooker. White’s job, however, is simple. He was brought in to give the Panthers as much intel as possible heading into Sunday’s game.’

Bills safeties Jordan Poyer, Jordan Hancock intersect at opposite ends of their careers

‘“I don’t have to be here, but I want to be here,” Poyer said. “… I see a lot of really good things from those young players. Sometimes a good player just needs someone to show them how to do some things. Show them where to go, show them what it looks like, show them what it feels like. That’s the next generation of ball players. I’ll be sitting on the beach one day with my iced tea and watching these boys play, hoping that I at least had somewhat of an impact on their career.”’

Josh Allen looks to extend perfect record after bye and snap Bills’ 2-game skid vs. Panthers

‘“Listen, we got a lot of work to do,” Allen said. “But this is a team that has a lot of guys that want to do that work, that care for each other. And we’re just excited for another opportunity this week.”’

Panthers will look to exploit Bills’ 31st-ranked run defense, control clock with two-back approach

‘Key matchup(s): Panthers RBs Rico Dowdle and Chuba Hubbard vs. Bills front seven. If the Panthers are going to have a chance against the Bills, they’ll need to control the time of possession and keep Josh Allen off the field. That means effectively running the football — something they have done extremely well of late. The Panthers have run for 580 yards over the past three games. They will again employ a two-back approach against the Bills. Last week Dowdle gained 79 yards rushing on 17 carries, while Hubbard had 14 carries for 31 yards. The vulnerable Bills defense comes into the game ranked 31st against the run, allowing 156.3 yards per game on the ground.’

Seven Wide Receivers the Bills Should Trade for to Help Josh Allen

‘It’s easy to understand Beane’s frustrations because Josh Allen earned his first MVP award and Buffalo averaged 30.9 points per game last season. Still, the questions were fair to ask because the Bills are lacking a difference-maker at the position. Also, Buffalo is usually in the market for wide receivers, as evidenced by last year’s trade for Amari Cooper.’

Bills vs. Panthers could be decided by one factor

‘The Bills’ defense has given up 100+ yards in all but one game this season, but in two of their last three games, totals of 189 and a whopping 210 against the Atlanta Falcons were among Buffalo’s biggest downfalls.’

Bills reveal how offense can get back on track vs. Panthers

‘“Just stick to the preparation, handle our business throughout the week,” Shakir said. “Put one foot in front of the other, don’t look too far ahead, and not really looking much in the past. Just that moving forward mentality, when we come out here focusing in on each and every play that we’re running, focusing in on the details, and just preparing the right way throughout the week so we’re ready to rock come game day.”’
