Inside the Bills: Pressure rate is up, but sacks have yet to follow for defense

‘With just six sacks, however, the Bills rank tied for 19th in that category, which shows that rushers aren’t quite getting home, even if they are getting the opposing quarterback off his spot.’

Bills notes: Landon Jackson staying patient, focused while awaiting NFL debut

‘Jackson has yet to be active on game day for the undefeated Bills (3-0), and it’s unclear if his NFL debut will happen Sunday when they host the winless New Orleans Saints (0-3). He was close to playing last Thursday in Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins, coach Sean McDermott told reporters, but there wasn’t room for another edge rusher on the game day roster.’

James Cook gets his own cookie, made by Rich’s and sold by Tops

‘Bills star running back James Cook is also getting a taste of the action with a new cookie that is now available at Tops Markets. The James Cookie is packed with praline-coated pretzels, crispy rice crunchies, toffee bits, white chocolate and red, white and blue sprinkles.’

Bills offfense has been explosive without big plays. Will the dink and dunk continue?

‘The lack of downfield throwing has been glaring, but the 3-0 Bills have not needed Allen to air it out because he has been so effective getting the ball into the hands of his targets and then letting them do their thing.’

Reggie Gilliam, Bills are at the forefront of the NFL’s fullback reemergence

‘The Bills rank sixth in two-back sets at 20.4%. And Gilliam is averaging a career-high 13.3 offensive snaps per game through the first three weeks, on pace to have nearly 100 more plays than any time in his career.’

Bills notebook: Ryan Van Demark preparing to start with Spencer Brown sidelined for second practice

Buffalo Bills right tackle Spencer Brown missed practice Thursday for the second consecutive day, casting doubt on his status for Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints. Brown told One Bills Live Wednesday that he injured his calf on the first drive against the Miami Dolphins, but played through it and spent most of the weekend in bed.

Josh Allen prioritizes winning over flashy plays as 3-0 Bills prepare to host 0-3 Saints

‘“You want to see fireworks, right? You want to see big plays and long touchdowns,” Allen said this week. “I love making those plays. But ultimately, I love winning football games.”’

Josh Allen-led Bills are riding 13-game home winning streak in preparing to host winless Saints

‘Josh Allen versus Saints secondary. Allen has combined for five touchdowns passes in two home games, and is facing a defense that’s allowed seven TD passes so far this season. The Saints secondary is relatively stingy in allowing just 210 yards passing per outing. New Orleans, however, has allowed eight passes of 20 or more yards, including four against Seattle.’

Bills’ Keon Coleman shuts down critics of offense with 4 key words

‘“I mean some games, that just is what it is,” Coleman said. “If the run working, why put the ball in the air? Make them stop the run, and then you go from there. Like I said, you going to have games have to throw the ball to win, and you going have games you run the ball, do what you do, you gonna win. So is what it is. Win is a win.”‘

Josh Allen fires back at angry Bills fans critical of offense during 3-0 start

‘”I just wanna win football games,” Allen said via Matthew Bove. “People want to talk about last game. Kevin just told me that people are mad that we’re not pushing the ball downfield and it’s just like, we’re winning football games. And we’re doing what’s asked of us, taking what’s there for us. Teams want to play these split safety coverages and keep everything in front of us. But completions and letting guys like [Khalil Shakir] get the ball in his hands and make a play and go score. Same thing with [Dalton Kincaid]… we’re just trying to win football games. Whatever that may be.”‘

Dalton Kincaid highlights incredible versatility of Bills offense

‘“They got to cover every inch of the field,” Kincaid said. “We could run the ball, pass the ball, whatever it may be, and when you can have three tight ends out there that can do all three, and I think it really helps out.”’

Bills still without three starters at practice

‘Defensive tackle Ed Oliver (ankle), linebacker Matt Milano (pectoral), and right tackle Spencer Brown (calf) all sat out for a second straight day as the team continued to prepare for their game Sunday at Highmark Stadium against the New Orleans Saints.’

Opinion: Might be time to call them the ‘Aints’ once again

‘The Saints have a new head coach in former NFL quarterback Kellen Moore, who had been the offensive coordinator for the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. At 36 years of age, Moore is the youngest head coach in the league.’

Remembering ‘The Ralph’ with Bills superfan Del Reid

‘”I think about the first game I ever went to, which was a come-from-behind win on ‘Sunday Night Football’ back in 1990. I think of my uncle taking me a game that same year and seeing Randall Cunningham complete this amazing pass out of the end zone for a touchdown on the other end of the field – Bills still won that day, so it’s OK,” said Reid in an interview with WBEN.’
