‘1974 — Dolphins 24, Bills 16 — After upsetting the Raiders in the home opener the previous Monday night, the Bills had a letdown against the repeat Super Bowl champions. O.J. Simpson’s early fumble led to Bob Griese’s 100th career touchdown pass, and the Dolphins never trailed after that. Miami had lost its opening game following the undefeated ’73 season, but got running back Mercury Morris and linebacker Nick Buoniconti back in the lineup for the trip to Rich Stadium, where attendance exceeded 80,000. Morris had 88 yards rushing and a touchdown that made it 21-3 in the fourth quarter. Ahmad Rashad recovered a fumble in the end zone for one of the Bills’ scores, and Joe Ferguson threw a late TD pass to J.D. Hill.’
