‘”First off, it was trusting my gut, trusting the preparation that went into it,” Babich said while addressing the media on Tuesday. “Our assistants prepare as well as anybody, and us putting together a good plan and then being able to adjust is something that you have to be able to do. I thought overall, we did a pretty good job of that. And the last thing is for anybody going through it the first time, everything’s the first time. So now you’ve been in those situations and now you’re a little more scarred, you’re a little bit more weathered based on the situations and how fast those things come up.”‘

Babich reflects on growth from first year as Bills defensive coordinator

‘”The biggest thing is the consistency. I think the biggest thing is the consistency we talked a lot about that last year,” Babich said. “I think the overall consistency in our approach, in our execution, making sure that no matter who we’re playing, certain things stay the same. I need to make sure I do that first and foremost as the leader of the defense. That would be my biggest thing is the consistency and our overall approach to the game.”‘

‘”When you talk about the players that are returning, it’s just identifying from last year the areas that we need to improve to be more consistent and making sure that we own those, we know those, and we work on those,” Babich shared. “That’s the training part of where we’re at right now and also going into training camp. And then you talk about adding pieces, adding pieces that can flat-out rush.”‘
