Notes from the NFL combine: Mike Vrabel’s record against Bills might soon take a hit

‘During his playing career, Vrabel’s Patriots teams went 16-2 against the Bills. Since the departures of quarterback Tom Brady and coach Bill Belichick, as well as the arrival of Bills quarterback Josh Allen, the rivalry has gone lopsided in the other direction. The Bills have gone 8-3 in their last 11 games against New England, and one of those losses came with Buffalo’s backups playing in a meaningless game.’

‘“Do I think (a lack of speed) cost us winning the Super Bowl? No,” Beane said. “Could we improve it? Yes. We’re always looking to add speed, but they’ve got to be football players, too. So I’m never going to turn down speed. I promise you, I’m not. You want speed at as many positions as you can. But football, as we know, is not played on a track, and so it’s the whole thing. We are evaluating the football player first, and then, ‘What else do they bring to the equation?’”’

Bills drop 12 spots to 23rd in NFLPA report card

‘The NFL Players Association polled 1,695 players to provide information about their current teams. Players are asked to vote on nine categories — family treatment, cafeteria, nutritionists/dieticians, locker room, training room, training staff, weight room, strength coaches, team travel, head coach and owner.’

Bills earn F-minus grade in team travel, GM Beane responds

‘”We put a lot of our players up [in first or business class] on the outbound [flights], we don’t put as many on the return, because depending on when we get back, some of the coaches are up there working on breaking down this film, getting ready for the next week,” Beane said. “So, if anyone’s complaining about not being up there, it couldn’t be on the outbound and maybe would be more on the return.”‘

Buffalo Bills get very poor report card from NFL players union

‘The Buffalo Bills ranked 23rd in the 2025 edition of the report cards – a big fall from 11th place last year. And while the Bills didn’t have many egregious grades for the most part, there was one category in which they ranked dead last – team travel. They Bills were given an F- grade in that category. However, across every other category, they only had one grade lower than a B-, which went to their training staff. For how many injuries they sustained last season, that feels like a fair grade.’
