Bills motor to win over Lions in high-scoring bout

‘Just a week after putting up 42 points in a losing effort against the Los Angeles Rams, the Bills responded by putting up 48 points, and earning a huge win, 48-42, over the NFC’s best team, the Detroit Lions, at Ford Field.’

McDermott: ‘Great job by the staffs,’ in victory over Detroit

‘”I thought the the entire offense and offensive staff did a lot of good things. Coming out and being able to run the football was important for us, credit to our offensive line. It’s everyone, tight ends, wide receivers blocking, and the running backs. I thought Joe did a good job changing some things up and Bobby as well. So great job by the staffs.”‘

Allen on mindset against Lions: ‘Win every play, whatever the play was’

‘”We’re just trying to find ways to win. And this is going to help us in the long run,” said Allen on Sunday following Buffalo’s win. “Still a lot of lot of things that we can learn from this game and take away offensively. I think we’ve got to. Too many plays left out there. To nitpick a game like that where you score 48 sounds kind of dumb, but still feel like we left some out there.”‘

Opinion: Joshua Patrick Allen: 2024 NFL MVP

‘As has been the case in almost every game this season, Allen was in complete command and control of the Bills offense. Like he did one week earlier against the Los Angeles Rams, Allen orchestrated scoring drive after scoring drive, and continually frustrated the opposing defense by making plays with his right arm and his legs.’

Opinion: Capaccio: Arrow Up/Arrow Down: Bills at Lions

‘No doubt a lot was circumstantial due to the score, and a great majority of it came in the second half, but the Bills defense still gave up close to 500 yards passing!’

Josh Allen & the Buffalo Bills offense has scored 90 points in last two games; is clicking at an elite level

‘”We felt like one of the ways to beat these guys is you have to score points,” Allen said after the win against Detroit. “That was our mindset. If we had to score 21 to win we would’ve tried to score 21 but we go out there each and every drive and reiterating what I said earlier just win the play.”‘

Bills fans spread Christmas cheer at Hofbrauhaus

‘Before Sunday’s showdown with the Detroit Lions, Hofbrauhaus was spreading Christmas cheer, working with a local organization to hand out bags of Christmas presents to hundreds of local families.’

Allen, Cook both run for 2 touchdowns; Bills speed past Lions in the Motor City

‘The Bills, prone to slow starts at times this season, had no such issues on Sunday.’

Carucci Take 2: Bills’ statement as the NFL’s best team made loudly in victory vs. Lions

‘The Bills let the world know that the conversation about which is the best team in the NFL should unquestionably lead with them.’

Where do the Bills stand in the AFC playoff picture with 3 games to go?

‘Long before the Super Bowl, though, teams like the Bills are doing all they can to improve their postseason seeds, to have the clearest possible path. The Bills won the AFC East weeks ago, and they still have a chance to secure home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs, but Buffalo would need to catch some breaks, and get some help elsewhere.’

Josh Allen, Bills beat Lions in 48-42 shootout

‘The matchup lived up to the hype and it was the Bills coming away with a 48-42 victory, handing the Lions just their second loss of the year.’

Thad Brown: This the most impressive win of McDermott era

‘They won ten of their first 13 games and that included handing the mighty Chiefs their only loss. The next best victory? That was probably in Seattle with the Seahawks missing one of their top weapons. Or maybe 6-8 Miami. The AFC East has been disappointing this year. The NFC West is mediocre. The AFC South is not good after the Texans and even Houston has major flaws. Those teams made up nine of Buffalo’s first ten wins. The Bills resume was not dripping with championship validation.’

Bills beat Lions in offensive shootout

‘Lions quarterback Jared Goff also had a ridiculous day, passing for 494 yards and five scores.’

Josh Allen bolsters MVP case against Lions

‘Allen passed for 362 yards and a pair of touchdowns, adding 68 more rushing yards with two more rushing TDs, following up last week’s six-touchdown game.’

Bills 48, Lions 42 | Final score, stats to know + game highlights

‘QB Josh Allen guided the passing and the run game counting for another 4 touchdowns, throwing for 362 yards and 2 touchdowns and running for 70 yards and 2 touchdowns. RB James Cook looked explosive, running for 105 yards and 2 touchdowns as well. RB Ty Johnson led all receivers, catching all 5 of his targets for 114 yards.’
