Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for performance against Pittsburgh

‘Allen completed 20 passes for 424 yards and four touchdowns in the Bills 38-3 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. The 424 passing yards marked the most in team history in regulation. He also had five carries for 42 yards.’

Tre’Davious White returns to Bills practice

‘“We’re excited for him to be out there,” McDermott said. “It’s one practice at a time and it’s really one play at a time in practice.”’

‘Hyde was placed on season-ending injured reserve last month after getting hurt late in the Bills’ win against the Titans on Monday Night Football in the second week of the season. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported Wednesday that Hyde had successful surgery in Los Angeles to repair a herniated disc in his neck, and will have a recovery period of six to nine months.’

‘Allen was 20 of 31 passing for a career-high 424 yards and four touchdowns. His passer rating was 134.1 and his yardage total was the most ever by a Bills quarterback in a regulation game. Allen also rushed for 42 yards on five carries.’

‘“He’s still the straw that stirs the drink and he makes that offense go,” said defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier. “He’s able to get all the other players involved and that’s something that’s probably a little bit different than when they targeting 2 or three players. Now they’re spreading it around a little bit more. Involving their run game a little bit more.”’

‘”Making all that noise out there, you can hear him from a mile away,” said cornerback Taron Johnson. “It’s just exciting to have him back out there, and I can’t wait to see what he does when he gets back.”‘

‘”Talk about a guy like Shakir, who gets thrown into the starting lineup, were down two slot guys and he goes in there and has a great day,” Josh Allen said. “Just trusting the guys that we brought into this building and our front office bringing in the right guys that care about football, care about each other and when you have that, you’re gonna have success.”‘

Several key players return to practice for the Bills on Wednesday

‘McKenzie and Oliver both earned full participation tags. McKenzie cleared concussion protocol that kept him out of Week 5, while Oliver had his first full participation day since Week 1. Oliver injured his ankle against the Rams and missed the Bills’ next three games but returned last week against the Steelers.’

Bills CB Tre’Davious White to return to practice; won’t play Sunday vs. Chiefs

‘The CB hasn’t played in a game since Week 12 of the 2021 season. White tore his ACL in that game against the Saints on November 25.’
