Bills’ Trent Murphy hunting for his first sack on Redskins’ rookie QB

‘“We understand it’s going to be big for Trent,” defensive end Jerry Hughes said, “so we want to go out there and take it to these guys. We want to let them know that he’s an extraordinary player, we’re happy to have him and we want to show them what he has brought to this team and what’s he’s brought to our D-line room.”’

Bills had sand kicked in their faces last week; can they do the same against Washington?

‘“Well they’re human right?” he said when asked about the mood of the team. “We acknowledge that number one, but we also know that it’s a week-to-week league and the longer you wait around, you’re negative, you’re this or that, you don’t move forward. In this league, if you don’t move forward it’s going to linger. And so, it’s our job to move forward and address on Monday what we addressed and then move forward and be mentally tough and be physically tough and that’s how we do things around here.”’

Can Bills bounce back against one-win Redskins?

‘“There’s lessons out there all the time that we can learn from, and so, as it relates to football, there’s teams every year that go through adversity that are able to keep their eyes on the target and fight through it. That’s what I expect we’ll continue to do. There’s going to be more adversity, that’s what comes with losses. There’s going to be more challenges some smaller, some bigger, (but) I expect us to continue to grow through those.”’

Bills focusing on rushing ‘D’ and giveaways

‘“We’ve got to stand up, we have to get it fixed and improve in that area and get to the point where they can’t be balanced on offense. That’s the goal. We’ll work towards that because teams will look at that and say, that’s what we need to do as well.”’

Buffalo Bills release struggling DT Kyle Peko, sign Vincent Taylor off practice squad

‘Peko had his most snaps of the season against the Philadelphia Eagles last week and the Bills’ run defense got gashed for over 200 yards on the ground. Buffalo obviously felt the need to make a change after the disappointing showing against Philadelphia. The Eagles had struggled to run the ball effectively all season before that game. They doubled their rushing total against the Bills from the previous game against the Dallas Cowboys.’
