Bills’ rookies making big impact

‘Just in the past two games, rookie tight end Dawson Knox (third round) caught his second touchdown of the season in the Bills’ win over Miami in Week 11, while rookie defensive tackle Ed Oliver (first round) picked up his second sack, and rookie offensive lineman Cody Ford (second round), rookie running back Devin Singletary (third round) and Oliver all had strong performances in the team’s Week 12 victory over Denver. In the win over the Broncos, Ford was matched up with Super Bowl 50 MVP Von Miller and held him to a fairly quiet performance, while Devin Singletary recorded his first career 100-yard rushing game and Oliver picked up another sack.’

Pegula Proud Of 8-3 Bills, But Still `A Long Way To Go’

‘From a longer-term view, Pegula’s comment echoes refrains often repeated by McDermott and Beane. The two arrived in Buffalo in 2017 with a singular vision of patiently and methodically rebuilding a franchise that had lost its way during a 17-year playoff drought, at the time was the longest active streak in North America’s four major professional sports.’

Lawson having a career year for the Bills in 2019

‘”He is one of our catalysts,” Head coach Sean McDermott said. “Whether its offensively or defensively, he is respected on both sides of the ball for how he brings it everyday.”‘

Siran Neal clears concussion protocol

‘Neal was listed as a full participant on Monday’s injury report, which was only an estimation since the team only held a walk-through. Tackle Ty Nsekhe was still out with an ankle injury, as was wide receiver Robert Foster, who suffered a hamstring injury Sunday. Center Mitch Morse, who left the game with a finger injury, was listed as a limited participant.’

Micah Hyde: When you play in Dallas, it feels like primetime

‘”It’s hard to play on Thursday night. Obviously fans love them, NFL on a Thursday, primetime game. But it’s hard to get your body right. I don’t start feeling good until Friday. So, to get ready for Thursday is pretty remarkable. Just have to stay at the complex a little longer.”‘

Bills legend reacts to team being 8-3 for first time in 23 years

‘”This team is just starving to be in the playoffs and then go from there and see what happens. We have the players, we have the coach, we have the attitude and that’s 90% of it. By the looks of things I think it’s not just on one person, it’s not just on Josh, it;’s on everybody doing their job,” he said.’

Bills playoff picture: Sitting pretty

‘The Bills may want to send Adam Gase a thank you gift. Not only did Buffalo take care of business (again) and get to 8-3, the Jets dispatched the Raiders with alarming ease. The Bills are now two games clear of anyone else in the AFC Wild Card race and the tiebreaker projection with Oakland gets flipped from a loss to a win.’

Eric Wood | 5 observations on the Bills following Week 12’s victory

‘The Bills defensive line dominated again. Four sacks yesterday, that’s 11 total sacks in the last two games. They limited Denver to just 134 total yards and had complete control over the Broncos. This tough performance all started with how the defensive line was able to put pressure up front. This week we saw less seven man pressures than last week against the Dolphins. Linebacker Matt Milano blitzed at times and Lorenzo Alexander was brought off the edge a couple times. When teams put you in base defense, I think the linebackers are a big asset for them. Even with single linebacker blitzes instead of all out pressures, the Bills were still able to cause havoc.’

Bills Today | These Bills have racked up weekly honors

‘The Bills are such an excellent unit on defense that individually their guys don’t stand out every week. Everyone contributes. But when you hold an NFL team to 134 yards, without a 50-yard drive in the game, as Buffalo did in the 20-3 suffocation of Denver, I’m going to single out a guy. Lawson had two sacks and three more pressures, and the Broncos never seriously threatened.’

Bills use defense, run game to down Broncos

‘Short term, Buffalo finished the soft part of its schedule at 8-3, its victories over teams that are a collective 18-63. It has solidified its position as the AFC’s No. 1 wild card, two full games ahead of Tennessee, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis and Oakland (all 6-5). The bad news is that in the Bills’ five closing games they will be underdogs in four of them, at Dallas (6-5) Thanksgiving afternoon, home with Baltimore (8-2 heading into tonight’s game against the Rams in L.A.), at Pittsburgh and at New England (10-1).’

On this day, Gore earned the game ball

‘“My running back coach (Kelly Skipper) came to me and said, “Hey, we’re gonna get it today,’” Gore noted. “I want to thank Skip for just keeping me up these last couple of weeks. He knew I wanted to be out there with my teammates and peers.’

Singletary records first 100-yard game in Bills’ 20-3 victory

‘In addition, his 65 yards of total offense put him in a tie with Marshall Faulk for fourth on the National Football League’s all-time scrimmage yards list with 19,154.’

For Bills’ defense, challenges only escalate from here

‘”So we’ve got a lot to work on,” the veteran defensive end said. “But that’s the kind of guys that we have on that side of the ball. We say that we’re playing ‘good’ defense when we give up points. And that’s how we play. We’re a very stingy group. We’re tough on ourselves and we expect more.”‘

Bills’ offensive line flexes muscle, depth in manhandling Broncos

‘“Selfishly, as a man, you want to go out there and play,” said Morse, who said he expects to play Thursday against Dallas. “But at the same time, it’s an excellent team win. I’m so proud of these guys. I’m disappointed that I couldn’t be a part of it. But I couldn’t believe the grit these dudes showed and I’m very proud.”’

Cole Beasley escapes injury, comes back to put up big numbers in Bills’ win over Broncos

‘“When I was on the ground, I kind of knew it just needed to calm down a little bit,” he said. “It’s the ankle I’ve been dealing with, so it’s kind of the same issue. It wasn’t anything I was too worried about, I was just more (ticked) off that it happened.”’
