Bills’ Robert Foster deals with ‘little turf toe situation’ as he looks to build on rookie season

‘”Everything happens for a reason,” he said. “Just continue to treat it and work on it and not let it affect my game, and just continue to grow. I mean, I can run. I can still run routes. I can do everything. But like I said, I can just control what I can control at the end of the day, and continue to just ball.”‘

Josh Allen’s preseason is over and let’s hope trying to do too much is too

‘Allen’s ability to run continued to be an important factor. He had two key scrambles, one in the first quarter to his right for 10 yards on second-and-18, and another picking up the first down on second-and-6, which occurred on the fourth play of the Bills’ scoring drive in the second quarter. Allen’s ability to run is a difference maker and this skill obviously makes the Buffalo offense more dangerous heading into the regular season.’

Jadeveon Clowney watch: Should the Buffalo Bills pursue a trade?

‘Let’s start with the biggest obstacle in a trade for Clowney. The Texans placed the franchise tag on him back on March 4 and failed to reach a multiyear deal with him by the July 15 deadline. That means any team that trades for the pass rusher will be getting him on just a one-year deal with no guarantee he’ll sign long term.’

What Bills’ Frank Gore said about Andrew Luck’s retirement; disappointing fan reaction

‘“They don’t understand this game’s tough, man,” Gore said. “Since he’s been there he’s had a lot of injuries and for the fans to boo him – that’s not right. This sport is tough.”’

McDermott: no timetable yet on Quinton Spain’s ankle injury

‘Spain injured his ankle in the team’s 24-20 preseaon win over the Lions Friday night. He was carted into the locker rom for evaluation. When McDermott was asked for a prognosis, he said, “we don’t really know right now. It’s too early. So we’re just taking it one day at a time right now.”‘

Roster battles heat up as regular season approaches

‘ “Going into year three, that’s what you want. You want tougher decisions this time this year, then it was last year at this time or the first year at this time,” McDermott said. “So, if those decisions become tougher then that’s what we want. That’s what Brandon and I both want and that’s a sign that our roster, the quality of our roster is improving across the board.”’

Bills players staying positive ahead of roster cuts

‘“I can just control my efforts, my energy and how I play on the field,” said Isaiah McKenzie. “When it’s Saturday and time for cuts, it’s something I can’t really think about, nothing I can really say or do.”’

Quick Hits: Tough decisions ahead as roster cut deadline approaches

‘“Going into year three that’s what you want,” McDermott explained. “You want tougher decisions this time this year than it was last year at this time or the first year at this time. So, if those decisions become tougher than so be it because that’s what we want. That’s what Brandon [Beane] and I both want and that’s a sign that the quality of our roster is improving across the board.”’

Bills Today: Versatility helps in wide receiver competition according to McDermott

‘“Probably similar to what I’ve mentioned after the game, I thought it was good work for us to go against Matt Stafford a good quarterback,” McDermott said. “You know, field position wise, we had some short fields, and I thought the defense did a good job, took the ball away at the end of the game. I thought those were some of the positives. Then we’ve got a lot of work to do in terms of some of the other areas as well in terms of playing better fundamentally communicating better, recognizing formations. Better, and just overall continuing to grow in our system playing more physical. So lot of work to do over the next couple weeks here.”’
