‘The Bills defense was gashed on the ground in the first half, allowing Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette to run for 95 yards and two scores on 18 carries. Buffalo did limit the passing game, as Jacksonville quarterback Blake Bortles was 12-of-23 passing for 127 yards and one touchdown, but was also intercepted twice by the Bills defense.’

‘The passing number don’t look pretty for Allen after that but trust me when I tell you he passed the eye ball test. After that first quarter, Allen was just 4-14 for 35 yards. But a couple of third down passes that were good for first downs were wiped out by penalties and a beautiful 35 yard throw to Deonte Thompson was knocked out of the receiver’s hands by a Jags defensive back.’

‘I would expect fans will appreciate Allen’s enthusiasm on a day where things got a bit nasty following a brawl in corner of the Bills end zone. I think fans have liked Allen for the way he handles himself. His sideline interactions with teammates, exhorting the crowd at the end of the third quarter when the stadium was already at a fever pitch will not go unnoticed. It helps that Allen delivered a fantastic touchdown run on the first play of the fourth quarter to close out that wild sequence.’

‘Referee Walt Coleman and his crew took over after that and refed maybe the worst game I have ever seen in the National Football League. They threw flags on almost every play and followed that up with long discussions acting like they didn’t know how to apply the rules.’

‘Williams was all over the field and finished with his highest tackle total of the season with seven. Two of those were for a loss. He also had 1.5 sacks and added two quarterback hurries. The 13-year veteran was terrific.’
