Bills make last-second trade for Panthers receiver Kelvin Benjamin

‘Although Benjamin has a history of knee problems and must pass a physical in order for the deal to be completed, General Manager Brandon Beane declared the trade “a win for the Buffalo Bills.” It was unknown Tuesday night whether the receiver would be in the lineup for Thursday night’s game against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium.’

Jerry Sullivan: Trade proves Beane, Bills want to win now

‘Seeing a chance to end the 17-year playoff drought in his first year as a GM, Beane went for it. He’s not fooling around. This makes seven trades since he took over as GM in May. It came four days after he sent the troubled Marcell Dareus to Jacksonville for a sixth-round pick.’

Poyer says he’s ‘ready to go’ for Bills Thursday night

‘”I believe I’ll be able to play,” Poyer said. “The knee’s feeling good, it’s been a good week of prep. I’m ready to go.”‘

Bills make big splash again, acquire WR Kelvin Benjamin from Panthers

‘The Panthers picked up Benjamin’s fifth-year option, so the Bills can retain him in 2018 before he’s eligible to hit free agency. They will absorb a salary cap hit next year of $8,459,000 if they decide to keep him. The option is guaranteed against injury only.’

If Tyrod Taylor keeps playing well, Bills have an interesting decision for 2018

‘There was a time when this seemed like a no-brainer, meaning no way the Bills would consider it. What else were people to think when it became obvious the Bills were stockpiling as many 2018 draft picks as possible, presumably to make a run at one of the upper-echelon quarterbacks due to be coming from the college ranks?’

Jim Memmott: Respecting and processing the unlikely success of the Buffalo Bills

‘I should admit that my faith in respecting the process doesn’t mean that I’m exactly sure what the process is.’

Panthers GM Marty Hurney explains why he traded Kelvin Benjamin to Buffalo Bills

‘”This was more about getting more speed on the field. We’ve got some young players who we think have some real ability,” Hurney told the Charlotte Observer “Kelvin was a very good player and was productive for us. It was more getting a mix of skill sets on the field and more speed.”‘

How many 2018 draft picks do Buffalo Bills have after Kelvin Benjamin trade?

‘After trading for wide receiver, here’s a look at Buffalo’s remaining picks in the 2018 NFL draft.’

Brandon Beane explains why Buffalo Bills took chance, traded for Kelvin Benjamin

‘”I was looking at any area that would help us,” Beane said. “I honestly was. Receiver was definitely one of the probably highlighted areas, but any position that would have helped us and made sense for us. Again, win today and win tomorrow, we would have made the move.’

National media reacts to Buffalo Bills trading for WR Kelvin Benjamin

‘The Bills clearly don’t care about their WRs being able to get open. Acquiring Jordan Matthews and Kelvin Benjamin is madness.’

Buffalo Bills trade for Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (report)

‘This trade is an aggressive one for the Bills, who just dealt star defensive tackle Marcell Dareus on Friday. After trading Sammy Watkins before the season, the Bills’ offense has lacked a legitimate No. 1 wide receiver through the first seven games. Benjamin provides that. At 6-foot-5 and 240 pounds, Benjamin is instantly the biggest wide receiver on the roster and provides a much needed weapon for Tyrod Taylor. Benjamin has 32 catches for 475 yards and two touchdowns this season.’

NFL Week 9 Power Rankings: Buffalo Bills’ blowout leads to rise in rankings

‘ They can make it to the playoffs, but can they win once they get there?’

Sean McDermott ‘blessed’ to be Pardon My Take’s ‘Football Guy of the Week’

‘McDermott won the honor for his “football guy” move of putting a jar of dirt and field turf in every player’s locker to remind them to “defend our dirt.” Asked about the honor of Tuesday, McDermott cracked a smile.’

5 things to watch as the Bills host the Saints

‘Turnover margin: The 2017 Bills have lived and died on turnovers this season. Last week, it was the latter. Buffalo had three fumbles lost against the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football en route to a 34-21 loss. If Josh McCown and the Jets burned the Bills when they turned it over, Drew Brees and the Saints certainly will. On the flip side, the less chances, the better, when you’re facing the second-best (392.5 yards-per-game) offense in the Saints. Even with no takeaways against the Jets, Buffalo still leads the NFL in turnover differential with +11.’

How Buffalo Bills’ coaches have seen Tyrod Taylor evolve since bye week

‘”The last two weeks, we have seen Tyrod grow in the pocket and stepping up in the pocket and doing some really nice things,” McDermott said. “Keeping plays alive, certainly. We all know that. Delivering the ball. I just think that he’s had two quality weeks since the bye. You look at other ways that he’s evolving and growing as a leader of this football team and that’s really exciting to watch.”‘
