‘Deonte Thompson joined the Bills this week off the waiver wire. He came in and immediately provided a boost to the passing game. He led the team with 107 receiving yards and seemed to gain more and more trust of Tyrod Taylor as the game went on. On the Bills’ late, game-tying touchdown drive, Thompson hauled in a 44-yard catch to jumpstart the Bills. Yeah, he can stay.’

‘”I love playing here,” McDermott said. “I do. These fans, I mean, what more could you ask for? These guys live them, the fans love it, we love it. This, to me, this is the place to play. When you come here, I came here a couple times as an opponent and I know how hard it was. It’s like heaven for a home team in my mind. Coaches, it’s fun to coach here. It’s fun to play here. It’s a great environment. This is what football is supposed to be about right here.”‘

‘Milano found himself contributing in a variety of ways against Tampa Bay, all leading to a team-high overall grade. The rookie linebacker tallied two pressures (both hurries) to go with two defensive stops and a very impressive interception on a seam route where he hung with Cameron Brate step for step.’

‘”They ran what we call a sneak route,” McDermott said. “They flood the zone one way and then come back where he hides underneath. Good play call, good design, good play design. It got him loose, so give credit where it’s due.”‘

‘”You know, I think it was like a third gap, a third wide-zone and a third QB driven,” Incognito estimated after the game. ” We did a bunch of self-scouting coming off the bye week. When we came back this week, we started installing plays and the focus had shifted away from the wide-zone game to some of the stuff we’re familiar with. More QB-driven stuff. I really think when Tyrod is in the QB-driven stuff and reading the back-side defensive end, he really just kind of holds half the field of the defense and slows down that pursuit front side. It really just kind of cuts the defense in half for us.”‘

‘”That’s exactly what coach said in here: a whole bunch of unwanted guys stepped up to the plate today and made a name for themselves,” Thompson said after the game. “I can’t thank God enough. ‘I thought there’s a lot of heart on this football team. Really, to me, personifies this city, doesn’t it? Heart, toughness, blue-collar, and fans stuck with us all day. I thought it was awesome, man. Awesome. It’s tough to win in this league. Every week it’s tight. Every week is tight. Guys stuck it out, played four quarters and came out with a win, so it was good to see.’

‘Jordan Matthews is officially active for Week 7 just three weeks after breaking his thumb. Matthews practiced all week and will reportedly wear a special protective glove on his injured thumb.’

‘”Alright, bold prediction of the week. The Buffalo Bills, they don’t just beat Tampa Bay, they rout ’em. And there’s plenty of reasons why. They’re fresher, Jameis (Winston), you know, he ends up not even practicing all week for Tampa Bay, but this running game of Buffalo needs to get on track. Last year, last two years, Buffalo has led the NFL in rushing and rushing average and Tampa can’t stop the run this year so watch out. Look for a Bills rout today.”‘
