'While the official police statement did not identify the victims, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported Monday that 11-year veteran Roland Butler was the first officer assaulted.'

'Nearly every chat with a Denver defensive player in Santa Clara this past week felt like an indictment of Ryan’s scheme. Players gushed over Phillips, repeatedly, because he kept it simple. Straightforward. Let them all attack with a clear mind. Took their advice.'

'What hasn’t been so apparent, however, is just how much leadership the Bills actually have from veterans such as McCoy and other players.'

'This is not McCoy’s first brush with the law. In December 2012 a woman who called herself Mary Roe alleged that McCoy’s publicist invited her and 15 other women to a nightclub party, and provided transportation to the event via a party bus. While on the bus, Roe claimed, McCoy sprayed the people on the bus with water. When Roe complained, McCoy told his bodyguard, someone named "Big John," to "get her."'

'And to think, six years ago the Bills were in the same shape as the Broncos, each coming off a 4-12 record in 2010.'

'Police have obtained video from outside the club that shows everyone involved in the incident getting ejected, but according to Philly.com, the surveillance cameras from inside the club were not working.'

'Philadelphia police said the officers involved in the incident are being treated for injuries. The off-duty officer who was kicked and stomped by the suspects is being treated for a laceration to his right eye, broken nose, broken ribs, and a sprained thumb. The officer who intervened has been admitted to the hospital, received eight stitches over his left eye and is currently receiving treatment for a possible skull fracture.'

'Jessie and Butler, both 40, are 11-year veterans of the department, while Ayres joined the department 10 years ago, according to city payroll records. A police spokesman issued a statement summarizing the incident but didn't identify any of the participants. None of the officers could be reached for comment Monday.'

'A website for the Recess Lounge describes the club as Philadelphia's "most private and exclusive nightclub venue" and "an environment that allows you to escape the perils of today’s problems."'

'According to the report, both officers were hospitalized after an altercation at Recess Lounge in Old City around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. McCoy and a friend were part of the incident and are currently the focus of the investigation.'

'The incident appears, according to the incident report, to have started over the off-duty police officers purchasing four bottles of champagne at the same nightclub McCoy and three of his friends were at.'

'According to the report, both officers were hospitalized after an altercation at Recess Lounge in Old City around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. McCoy and a friend were part of the incident and are currently the focus of the investigation.'

'A law enforcement official told CSNPhilly.com that two of the officers suffered broken ribs. According to the report, Butler transported himself to Delaware County Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for a laceration to his right eye, a broken nose, broken ribs and a sprained thumb. Jessie was admitted to Hahnemann Hospital where he received stitches over his left eye and treatment for a possible skull fracture.'

'Butler was “punched, kicked, and stomped about his body and head multiple times,” the police report says, by Porter, McCoy, Brinkley, and Henderson.'
