December is month full of traditions – gathering with family, making a holiday meal with special recipes, gift-giving. The Bills also have a December tradition – of playing lackluster garbage football that makes you want to vomit.

'And the worst part about Buffalo’s defeat was that, Ryan’s thoughts to the contrary, the Bills weren’t ready, or just didn’t want to play yesterday.'

'“We have two games to prove that we belong here,” Rex Ryan said after his team fell to 6-8 in his first year at the Bills’ helm, assuring him of a worse record than his predecessor, Doug Marrone, had in 2014. “That’s every coach, every player, everybody. And that’s just the reality of the business.”'

'Coach Rex Ryan said there could be drastic changes coming this off-season and one logical change would be to release Williams and free up money. He hasn't been a fit in Ryan's 3-4 defense with only four sacks this season. And on Sunday, Williams was a total non-factor with only one assisted tackle and no hits on Kirk Cousins. He says it's "obvious" changes are coming, adding, "You just wait and see if your number's called."'

'The Bills led in total yards, turnover margin and time of possession. They now are 84-6 (.933 winning percentage) in games when they win all three categories since 1983, as far back as ProFootballReference.com tracks time of possession.'

'“Once we get to that point and realize that you could get fired the next day – and make it known. Hey, this is your job. If you’re not going to do your job, cut him. It needs to be a business. 'It’s high time we heard from another, more prominent Pegula – Terry. Bills fans don’t need tweets from the children, they demand and deserve answers. After Sunday’s humiliation, Pegula has a pile of pressing questions to address after his team missed the playoffs for a 16th straight time.'

'The defense put up virtually no resistance as Kirk Cousins threw for 319 yards and four touchdown passes, and ran for a 13-yard score. The Redskins also had a solid day of rushing as they put together a successful mix of outside throws with inside runs. The Bills’ pass coverage and tackling were beyond pathetic. The offense showed some life in the second half, but mostly piled up garbage yards. It failed to deliver when it had to – such as when it couldn’t punch it in on five shots (counting a penalty) from the 1-yard line late in the first half.'

'Cousins outplayed Taylor because he was a little better throwing from the pocket. But let’s consider the degree of difficulty. Washington’s defense put far more pressure on the quarterback than Buffalo’s. Taylor was knocked around all day long, taking five sacks to just one for Cousins.'

'Encroachment! Washington had no intention of snapping the ball on a fourth-and-1 play in the second quarter. Sure enough, Stefan Charles jumped. Four plays later, Cousins made it 14-0.'

'Our call: During the game, Terry and Kim Petula’s son, Matty, tweeted – and then deleted – a sarcastic message about how well the defense was playing in the first half. We can only imagine what he might have fired off if the Bills punted here.'
