'Asked how Kelly differs from Bills coach Rex Ryan, McCoy said: "They're way different. Way, way different . . . I think it's the small things. Rex is more worried about playing football. The way you wear your hat or the way you wear your jeans, or the different socks you wear, he don't care about that. As long as a player does his job, he don't care about that type stuff. He wants to win games. The rules for the team are to play with respect and to constantly play for the logo on the helmet. And that's all he cares about.'

'“You know what, to be honest, whatever I do say, it doesn’t matter,” he said. “I’m not looking at all of that — if I was treated better. Right now, it don’t matter. It is what it is. I just thought that maybe there’d be better communication because I was really tight with the owner. So I thought that would have ran a little better. Other than that, it doesn’t matter if I got treated better or not. I mean, it happened. It is what it is. And I’m not the only player that’s going to get traded that’s a good player.”'

'“What are we shaking hands for?” McCoy said on a conference call Wednesday. “We don’t have that type of relationship. I have nothing against him. I don’t have no hatred. I have nothing negative to say about him. I’m not going to get into an argument with him or fight with him. I just don’t think shaking hands.'

'And why not Kelly? "We don't have that type of relationship," McCoy said.'

'"The first thing that popped into my head was, 'What's the asking price?' " Ryan said Wednesday ahead of Sunday's game at Lincoln Financial Field.'

'"He spoke about how he made the highest level of football as a professional and played Division I football at Pitt in the Big East, and he then told the kids about how those experiences did not compare to playing high school football," said Mealy, McDevitt's athletic director. "He said his best days of playing football were for the Bishop McDevitt Crusaders."'

'In another tweet Berman quoted McCoy saying: "I have nothing negative to say about him. I'm not going into an argument or fight with him. I just don't think we need to shake hands."'

'The Bills are also giving McCoy the ball more often. He didn't have any games with more than 19 carries in his first six contests this season, but over each of the past four weeks, he's had 19, 20, 19 and 21 rushing attempts, respectively.'

'“I always have former players, anybody with a certain connection to the city or whatever,” Ryan said. “It seems like everybody wants to make a big deal of it. I don't think it's that big a deal. I know what it means to the former player, obviously. They like doing it.”'

'It might take a world-renowned psychologist to explain the type of relationship McCoy and Kelly have. There have just been so many strange turns to this story since Kelly traded him to Buffalo for linebacker Kiko Alonso in the offseason.'

'“Chip, he showed me a lot. He’s really smart, really smart, and he taught me different things, and it was a blast to play in his offense,” he said. “I think (Kelly) said that he wanted somebody to fit for his style, more of a downhill runner. And I think that’s why they got DeMarco (Murray). I think (Jeffrey) Lurie said that also, speaking for Chip.”'

'Joe Flacco's out for the rest of the season, Matt Schaub's banged up and the Ravens are staring at the possibility of having Jimmy Clausen or Bryn Renner play quarterback for them sometime in the next four games. Might be nice if Tyrod Taylor was still in town.'

'"I'm sure there are people you don't hate or have an issue with that you don't speak to," he said. "I'm with the Bills. He's with the Eagles. We never had any great relationship, best friends. So there's nothing to really talk about."'

'"He knows that's not going to happen," McCoy said. "I know that's not going to happen. We're not going to shake no hands. I'm not going to get into an argument with (Kelly) or fight with him. But I just don't think we need to be shaking hands."'

'"Today he walked in the building, full of juice, full of energy," running back Boobie Dixon said, recounting what took place. "He walked pretty much in a lot of guys' faces and just let us know, he needs us this week. So I can't wait, man. I'm excited. We got to do this for our boy. We got to do it for Shady."'
