"You don't want a pillow fight, you want to compete, and that's why it should be a higher intensity level anytime you're going against another opponent. But at the same time we want to practice football. If you just want to fight, we'll go to the local gym and grab some guy to fight somebody. That defeats the purpose, but we're not going to be bullied. I was hoping the idea was to get better as a football team."'

'Asked if that something was Enemkpali's incident, Ryan just smiled and said, "Nah, I'm not saying that."'

'"I am sure I will be blamed for it," Ryan quipped. "I was not even on the field. I am guilty."'

'"Ah, I don't even think about that. That was just something that goes on on Twitter," Whitner said after practice. "I think mine is a little more public, that you see everything I say, but you can't really see everything people say to me. I'm passed that. It's something that happened, but I'm passed that now."'

'It seemed every time a Bills quarterback threw Gilbert's way he allowed the catch. Robert Woods had an especially easy time beating Gilbert. During team drills, Gilbert allowed six catches on six throws his way. Even undrafted rookie Andre Davis was able to beat Gilbert for a touchdown.'

'Why the Bills ever signed Enemkpali is beyond me. It’s not like he’s a Pro Bowl player. He’s a sixth-round draft choice from a year ago who had just three tackles in six games with the Jets last year.'

'Groves is a seven-year journeyman who had three starts in 16 games with Tennessee last season. Groves was selected by Jacksonville in the second round of the 2008 draft and spent two seasons playing for the Jaguars. He also has played for Oakland, Arizona and Cleveland, and has 32 starts in 100 career games.'

'Powell was hurt an hour into the Bills' joint practice with the Cleveland Browns on Monday. It happened during a team drill when Browns running back Jalen Parmele ran to his left toward Powell.'

'"Once we find out, you guys will know," Ryan said Monday. "He woke up in the morning. He felt a little something weight lifting in the afternoon (Sunday). But it wasn't anything. But now he obviously he had this thing where if you'd touch him … obviously he's in a lot of pain."'

'Powell was a seventh-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks in 2013 and spent time on the practice squads of both the Seahawks and New York Giants before the Bills picked him up in October 2013.'

'Taylor, who I've thought all along is the guy the coaches are hoping takes control of this thing, has a great opportunity here in the next few days. Practicing against the Cleveland Browns twice and then getting the start against them Thursday.'

'After being selected in the second round of the 2008 draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars, Groves went on to play for the Jags, Raiders, Cardinals, Browns, Texans, and Titans, playing 100 games, starting 32 of them.'

'Ty Powell went down during 11-on-11 and Rex Ryan said it’s bad, “We had some terrible news happen, Ty Powell got carted off and that’s a possible ACL and that young man would be done for the year of that’s the case, but that’s horrible news because that guy had been playing great for us and really coming into his own.”'
