‘Gase already has interviews set up Friday with the San Francisco 49ers and Atlanta Falcons. He will interview with the Chicago Bears on Saturday. He is also expected to meet with the Bills on Saturday.’

‘”It was a dream,” Graham said of playing for Buffalo. “So for me to have the opportunity to go back home and play is like a dream come true. I mean, I was a Bills fan growing up. I’ve always paid attention to what was going on here. So to have an opportunity to come here and play has been special.”‘

‘It’s unclear whether the Pegulas will seek outside advice during the coaching search, or rely on team president Russ Brandon and general manager Doug Whaley to identify candidates.’

‘Polian was widely reported to be on the cusp of taking the Bills’ personnel position on Wednesday when head coach Doug Marrone exercised an opt-out clause in his contract and left the team.’

‘”The bottom line is the job description changed pretty dramatically and the most important thing is that it would have required a really long commitment to a new coach, who deserved a long commitment that I wasn’t prepared to make. ‘It is unknown what went on behind closed doors Wednesday. With obvious leverage, Marrone may have asked for a raise and an extension from Pegula, and probably more power in the personnel decision-making process. If he did, and it wasn’t granted, that may have been why he opted out.’

‘And the Bills, without a first-rounder thanks to the Sammy Watkins trade, will be picking midway through the second round, probably leaving them the likes of Mississippi State’s Dak Prescott, Colorado State’s Garrett Grayson and UCLA’s Brett Hundley.’

‘There were reports of tension in the Bills’ front office, and Marrone is reportedly highly thought of around the league.’
