‘”We have a lot of good players on that side of the football,” coach Doug Marrone said. “I never put a ceiling on where those guys can be. I really think they can be as good as they want to be. It’s not going to be a matter of talent. I think that the coaches are doing a very good job, along with the players, of stepping it up when it’s time to step up.”‘

‘”That’s more of the mindset, being able to reload and get ready and be prepared,” coach Doug Marrone said. “Because if” as a player “I go back home and I take too much time and I just sit around and relax and not do anything, I won’t be where I need to be as a leader when I come back here.”‘

‘”You have a guy that’s older than everybody now,” Hackett said of Orton. “I think that just demands that respect, regardless, because he’s played in games, because he has a winning record, he’s thrown for a lot of yards. We’re trying to get the guys in the right positions, whether it’s a new offensive lineman, a new wide receiver, or a new package. You never know what’s going to happen next. I think that we just have to be ready and fluid to make those changes.”‘

‘The costumes speak for themselves. Quarterback Jeff Tuel as Waldo, safety Da’Norris Searcy as Captain America, and whatever it is Robert Woods was dressed as were among the best costumes from the event.’

‘Since his late signing by Buffalo and unexpectedly early promotion, Orton has helped guide the Bills to three victories in four games. He has nine touchdowns, three interceptions and doesn’t beat himself.’

‘”In Buffalo, you can’t imagine how much people revere Fred Jackson, because of his high character, his community involvement, coming from a Division III school,” said Levy, the former Bills coach who guided the franchise to four straight Super Bowls. “So there are some good examples in the league, too.”‘

‘The move was announced Tuesday, two days after Ladler was hurt during Buffalo’s 43-23 win at the New York Jets. It was only the rookie’s second game since being promoted off the practice squad three weeks earlier.’

‘In what seems to be turning into a weekly trend, WR Sammy Watkins is once again up for NFL Rookie of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.’

‘An undrafted free agent out of Vanderbilt, Ladler was signed by the team on May 13. He was released after training camp, but later resigned with the Practice Squad before being elevated to the 53-man roster on October 11.’

‘”That was the goal,” said Kyle Orton. “(We went) 3-1 in the second quarter (of the season). A couple of big wins for us and got a division win on the road, which is huge. It’s a great chance to kind of get away from the game for a minute, but also know that we’ve fought hard to put ourselves in this situation and do everything we can to take advantage of it.”‘
