‘Westerman, 28, is no stranger to defensive coordinator Mike Pettine’s scheme. He spent three seasons as a member of the Jets with Pettine, appearing in 36 games in which three were starts.’

‘The move now puts the Bills roster at 86, with five tight ends remaining (Scott Chandler, Lee Smith, Chris Gragg, Dorin Dickerson and Nick Provo). The Bills have until Thursday, August 27 at 4 pm to get their roster down to 75.’

Nothing specific,” said Marrone. “I just wanted to make sure he was healthy and I asked him if he was healthy then here we go because obviously it’s a competition and we want to be equal. I told EJ, I said, ‘EJ it’s not a reflection on how you played. We thought you played really well for a guy that played his first NFL game.'”‘
