‘Asked about Kolb’s injury history, Marrone said: “Sometimes when I look at players, especially the quarterback position, Kevin has played that position and has taken some big hits. I think anyone in that position probably would have sustained the same amount, give or take a little. It’s disappointing when you get labeled like that because the one thing I do know about Kevin, he is a tough son of a gun. He’ll get back out there quickly if it’s up to him.”‘

‘I feel sorry for Marrone, in a way. He’s a first-time NFL head coach. Toto, we’re not in Syracuse any more. Marrone better to get used to answering questions about Mario.’

‘The offense scored touchdowns on 6 of 8 plays from the 3-yard line or closer during the session, before a good crowd of roughly 1,500 at St. John Fisher College.’

‘”It has kind of exceeded my expectations,” said the 56-year-old Murphy. “Being able to produce quality radio and do video stories for the website. The only thing that would make it perfect would be if they make the playoffs.”‘

Kolb was noticeably angry when it happened and slammed his helmet to the ground, which could be an indication that he knows it could be a little more serious than a bumped knee.’

‘”My philosophy is that when we go, we’ll have a big scrimmage, a live scrimmage,” Marrone said. “That will be the first look at saying, ‘OK, who can really get it done in a live situation?'”‘

‘”I wasn’t a linebacker until my freshman year (of high school) when I was playing corner,” the Buffalo Bills rookie said. “I have been back there ever since.”‘

‘When wet, the mats provide very little traction, especially for players wearing cleats. Shortly after Kolb slipped, several camp volunteers arrived with brooms to sweep away any remaining water from the mats.’

‘”He bumped his knee and he’ll be day-to-day,” Head Coach Doug Marrone said after practice, indicating that he did not consider it to be serious.’

‘Sinkfield has been out of a job since the Packers released him just prior to training camp on July 19. The wide receiver hails from Northern Iowa, and ran a blazing 40-yard dash time of 4.19 seconds to at least one stopwatch at the University of Minnesota pro day.’

‘”He’s going to be out for a while. We’re going to make sure we work hard to get him back as soon as we possibly can,” he said. “He’s going to be out for a while and what I mean by a while is it’s going to be at least a week and after that I’ll probably come out with something and see where we are by then.”‘

‘With the live scrimmage scheduled for Monday night’s practice at St. John Fisher College, Head Coach Doug Marrone attempted to ready his team for the physical aspects of that day by going live for 15 straight plays to end practice.’
