‘”When we started out about a month and a half ago, we revved up pretty good,” said Kraig Urbik. “It was really good conditioning. Obviously, now, with the practice, we can’t condition as well and this is our conditioning. We’ve got to continue to do it up until camp, because we’re going to be doing this. We ran three sets of no huddle in camp and in games, we’re running four-five-six sets of that. So we have to be in really good shape.”‘

‘As I said, I would give the majority of the reps to Manuel which Marrone doesn’t appear to be ready to do. At the very least, I would cut the competition down to two by training camp. Marrone can use all of the workouts prior to St. John Fisher to basically choose between Kolb and Jackson and the winner can go head to head with Manuel at camp. Its kind of like the primary before a general election.’

‘”All week, Coach has been hard on us and really tough on us about feet and hands,” Rolle said. “First we started with feet, and then we worked with our hands. With today, making it the last day, putting everything together, we had a better day overall.”‘

‘”I have so much room to get better,” Goodwin said after the team’s second rookie minicamp practice Saturday afternoon. “I’m devoting all my time to football. I’ve got so many technical things that could be corrected.”‘

‘”I’ve talked to them just like I have spoken to other players,” Marrone said. “You have an outstanding opportunity. People are going to be watching. It is probably going to be your last shot. As long as you understand that, that is what you get yourself into. It’s all on you.”‘

‘”That’s what we’re trying to do in this offense is play fast,” he remarked. “That forces the defense to play fast. Trying to have a fast-paced offense, just keep things moving, staying low. The defense haste react to that, respond to that so we set the tone.”‘

‘”We’ve just got to get the timing down,” said Goodwin. “The quarterbacks are doing tremendous out here as well as my other teammates. We’re just working hard day in and day out and we’ll get the timing down and it’ll be perfect. We got it perfect out here a few times.”‘

‘”It felt great to be back with a team,” Manuel said afterward. “Through the pre-draft process, you get so used to doing things on your own or with guys who are training and things like that. But today, it was a real practice. Strap it up with cleats and a helmet back on. It was a great feeling.”‘

”’As a coach, I know I’ve had this problem that if I create expectations in my mind of players I’ve never coached before, I can find myself getting into trouble,” Marrone said. ”So I try to go in there open-minded. … But I was very happy with EJ.”’

‘The Bills have yet to sign their top three selections, including first-round pick, quarterback EJ Manuel.’

‘Goodwin, chosen with the 78th overall pick last month, totaled 120 receptions for 1,364 yards and seven touchdowns in 50 games for the University of Texas.’
