‘Whether it’s Jackson, Spiller, third-stringer Tashard Choice or a guy he pulls out of the Big Tree Inn down Abbott Road, he loves to spread the workload. To him, it’s at minimum a two-person job. Unfortunately during this maddening season, Gailey’s not-so-golden touch has turned Jackson and Spiller, his Batman and Robin, into a production too often suited for Beavis and Butt-head.’

‘It was maddening how Spiller would break off big runs, and then trot to the sideline and watch Choice take over at running back. Gailey said that was the plan, plus, Spiller gets winded and needs breaks. If you can’t hear me, I’m screaming.’

‘Kudos to Dave Wannstedt’s defense, which had one of its best games, pressuring Tannehill and coming up with not one, but two, game-saving interceptions at the end. Bills get their first division win.’

The Bills are struggling this season, but it’s still a good time and what else would you rather be doing in Buffalo on a Thursday night.”‘

‘McKelvin became the first NFLer this season to return two kicks of any kind for a score. His first was an 88-yarder in Week 2 against Kansas City. McKelvin also raised his league-leading punt-return average from 19.5 yards to 21.9, after taking back three on Thursday for 98 yards.’

”’That’s how it’s supposed to be,” Williams said. ”It was definitely a must win. With the way things turned out earlier in the season, we had to come out and play like it’s the playoffs.”’

‘The Bills were without running back Fred Jackson, who was ruled out earlier after sustaining a concussion Sunday in a loss to the Patriots, and defensive end Chris Kelsay and Aaron Williams. Kelsay is sidelined by a neck injury, and Williams has a knee injury.’

‘Ryan Fitzpatrick had 168 passing yards and C.J. Spiller totaled 91 yards on 22 carries for the Bills (4-6), who snapped a three-game losing streak and notched their first win against a division opponent in four tries this season.’

‘On offense, C.J. Spiller started for the injured Fred Jackson and had his worst game of the season statistically and it was still stellar. He had 91 yards rushing and a respectable 4.1 yards per carry. He set a career high with 22 carries. He had three receptions for 39 yards giving him 25 touches.’

‘The game should have been a runaway. It should have been a statement game — especially considering how dominant their defense was against a terribly inefficient offense. Then again, after a team has lost three in a row, in addition to five of their last six, I guess they’ll take a win however terrible the packaging may be.’

‘So, it’s a start, but it’s going to take a lot more fanning of the flames to get these embers raging.’

‘Really liked the addition of the back shoulder throw from Fitz to Stevie Johnson, even if Johnson dropped the first one thrown his way. Johnson is as close to a workhorse wide receiver as the Bills have on the roster. After linebacker and franchise quarterback, wide receiver is easily the next dearth on the roster.’

‘Penalties Again: They had 11 penalties for 100 yards.’

‘Spiller needs to have the ball in his hands as much as possible.’
