‘Nix said Anderson is visiting specialist James Andrews to determine the severity of the injury.’

‘”We have to figure out what in the world is going on from the first guy to No. 11 on defense,” said defensive end Mario Williams, who has managed 1 1/2 sacks after signing a six-year, $100 million contract to leave Houston.’

‘Anderson has 12 tackles and a sack through five games for the Bills this season.’

‘An injury to Williams has not been mentioned until he missed practice on Wednesday, though it seems to be a simple case of a veteran player getting a day off to start the week. After practice, it was revealed that it’s an ankle injury, and one that the defensive tackle does not expect will keep him out of practice on Thursday.’

‘The Bills were pretty much toast at halftime in San Francisco because of their inability to hit big plays, and San Fran’s ability to hit theirs. It was an absolute blowout at QB, at CB, at scheming, and execution. There’s a reason the 49ers were one win from the Superbowl and the Bills are…well…where they are.’

‘The defensive end was one of the two prized additions in the off-season by the Bills, coming to the franchise as a free agent by way of the New England Patriots. In 2011, Anderson racked up 10 sacks throughout the season. However, he’s failed to live up to perhaps lofty expectations through the first five games of the season with Buffalo, registering only one takedown of the quarterback.’

‘The way Ryan Fitzpatrick has played this season leads me to believe the Bills brain trust will finally realize he isn’t the answer and its time to make drafting a quarterback the number one priority.’

‘Nick Barnett shined early on in the game against San Francisco, serving as the main reason the Bills were able to keep the 49ers out of the end zone on their first scoring drive. Barnett made two consecutive plays to stop Frank Gore from breaking the plane. His other big play of the game came at the end of the first half when he forced Colin Kaepernick to fumble. He struggled a few times as the game wore on, getting swallowed up blockers once and getting blocked eight yards down the field another time. It was an improvement from last week, but not near the standard he set through the first three games.’

‘Well, I think that is all you can do. You cannot dwell on it. It is a long season, and the last two games we played have been ugly for us, but we still have a lot of work to do. We still have an opportunity to get to where we want to be this season and the only thing we can do is control what we do from here on out and not focus on the past.’

‘It’s a much better feeling today than it’s been the last few days, I think, just in terms of putting that loss behind us. Really getting to dive in and focus on Arizona and the things that we’re doing with our schemes, it’s definitely a new week for us. We’ve got our plays that we put in today; we’ve watched a lot of film in terms of what we think they’re going to do against some of our stuff. When you start focusing on football and get away from all of the negative media stuff, and all of the injuries, and just focus on your job I think it’s refreshing to get back into that.’

‘Well, we have to play better in the second half. To me we have played pretty well in the first half of both games, but we have just lost it in the second half. We just need to play better in the second half. Play in the second half like we did in the first half and we will be alright.’
