‘Arizona’s Jay Feely kicked a franchise-record 61-yard field goal with 1:09 left in regulation to tie it 16-16, but his 38-yard attempt to win it as the fourth quarter ended careened off the left upright.’

‘Bills defensive tackle Kyle Williams is active for Sunday’s game despite missing two days of practice with an ankle injury, but defensive end Mark Anderson is still out with a knee injury.’

‘The Bills, though, got a turnover when John Skelton, who took over for an injured Kevin Kolb late in the fourth quarter, was picked off by Jarius Byrd and he took it 29 yards down to the 6-yard line. After Fitzpatrick ran the ball to center it, Lindell calmly booted it through the uprights for the win.’

‘Moments after Feely’s 61-yarder, the Arizona kicker sent a 38-yard attempt off the crossbar as time expired in regulation.’

‘I’d like to welcome Mario Williams to Buffalo. The first game he showed up for all season was one the Bills had to win to save their season. He was an absolute force against a team that had given up 17 sacks in two games.’

‘Jairus Byrd proved just how valuable he is to the Bills defense with two game-changing efforts that resulted in a team victory. Byrd does so much more than just intercept the ball for the Bills. He’s solid in run support, incredibly adept at playing the ‘last man standing’ role in both coverage and tackling, and, well, you can’t list many more without the obvious ballhawking abilities.’

‘More importantly though, this win shows – at least for another week – that Chan Gailey hasn’t “lost” his team as many suggested after the meltdowns against the Pats and Niners. During their time holed up in an exclusive resort in the Phoenix area, Bills players suggested this was exactly what they needed to regroup and refocus. They were right, even though this game could just as easily been lost as won.’

‘The 3-3 mark is where I expected the Bills to be at this juncture. And while I anticipated losses to the Jets, Patriots and 49ers, I didn’t envision them being nearly as lopsided as they were.’

‘If there are other football minds in Chan Gailey’s circle of friends, they should find a way to retroactively drug test him for the final few minutes of regulation. Up three points and you’ve basically got the game in check? Go for the jugular with a wide receiver throwing a long pass after not tossing a football in live action in, what? 64 years? The real answer: Brad Smith hadn’t thrown a pass this season and attempted one in 15 games last season.’

‘Byrd intercepted a John Skelton pass over the middle intended for Rob Housler at the Arizona 35 and returned it to the Cardinals six-yard line. Two plays later Rian Lindell kicked a 25-yard field goal for the victory in overtime.’

‘”It’s huge, but it’s not relief. It’s excitement about where our team can go. This was a tough football game, and it was against a good football team. To come on the road and win it the way we did, I am impressed with the way the team played.”‘

‘”There were a lot of breaks that went our way and some that went their way. It was just one of those games that we were up and down. We came out here with one goal, and that was to win. In the NFL you celebrate those victories, because we know they’re tough to come by. We put a lot of work in this week. In general, our whole organization put a lot of work into this week. This was a very satisfying win for us. Not only to get us back on track, but with the way that everything’s been going throughout the week and the way we have come together as a team, it was a fitting ending to the game.”‘
